That thinking encapsulates the exact reason why we have the rich and the will never be rich. You don't build wealth and a family/business to pass it on and enable the next generation to do the same if you make $100k and spend $99k King. Look at lottery winners and bankrupt pro athletes.....they to could have been set for life and passed it on to kids who could then continue to be successful and then grandkids....but instead it all went poof.
Banks cannot spend $$ now because A) new rules set on how much they need set aside to prove solvency in another down turn - remember the 'stress tests' of 2009/2010? and B) the new Dodd/Frank laws slashed operating revenue. And when a company loses revnue they do what?? fire workers and cur services.
Do banks make a profit year in and year out...absolutely....but do you want them to NOT make $$ which means they will shut down and then how will you pay your bills online....how will you get a car loan/mortgage...etc.Comment -
