John, or anyone else, what are the rule differences for "single deck" vs. "single hand" blackjack? I tried both and the only difference I noted was no surrender in single hand.

Under typical rules and perfect play the house edge in blackjack is around 0.5% (not 2%), but that doesn't mean the player wins 49.5% of all hands. Remember the player has 3 ways to win more than their bet amount: blackjack, split, double, so you don't need to win 50% to break even. And of course, changing the payout doesn't change the win %.

But, to answer your implied question 6% is correct. Moving from 3:2 to 2:1 gives the player 2.27%, so moving from 3:2 to 3:1 should give 6.81%. Start with -0.5% add 6.81% and the game is ~+6.3% EV. Of course that is given perfect play. Every mistake you make cuts into your return. Still, even a terrible strategy like "never bust" won't cost you all of the 6%.

5k deposit = 1 in 3 chance of losing em all. Bit expensive to prove a point.

Would need to use 20k, and play way more than 100 hands. You can pretty easily calculate how many standard deviations the result is from the mean - if it's fixed, it would be incredibly easy to prove, and publically in the forums too.
