Obama is in a position so far over his head its laughable. Google a theory called the "Peter Principle". No one even knows if this guy would be competent to run a small business, much less the largest corporation in the world.

Q: During the Clinton administration was the federal budget balanced? Was the federal deficit erased? A: Yes to both questions, whether you count Social Security or not. FULL ANSWER This chart, based on historical figures from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, shows the total deficit or surplus for each fiscal year from 1990 through 2006. Keep in mind that fiscal years begin Oct.
recession began april 2001, 3 months after dumbya became president.

Both parties clearly to blame. Going back to Clintons first 2 years, his spending was out of control, could not even get a budget past his own party in his second year. The Republicans came in with the Contract with America and forced a balanced budget. Clinton initially fought many of the proposals in the Contract with Amercia, but eventually Clintoin and Gingrich worked together. The last term of Clinton and first term of Bush the economy was rolling. One problem, the economy was fueled by sub-prime lending, Home equity loans (everyone and their brother had one) and CC spending, the economy was fueled by consumer credit spending. Well that came to an abrupt halt. Bush instead of adjusting to new economic conditions continued with un-funded tax cuts. Them Obama came in with spending that was and is totally out of control. We now have a situation with both parties staring at each other waiting for the other to move. No one in Congress wants to be victim of those 30 seconds attack adds come election time claiming they cut funding for social programs or raised taxes. We need to act responsibiliy and do the following: control Illegal immigration (large block of votes at stake though), end or significantly curtail the wars, cut spending at almost every level, raise revenue through tax increases (at least until debt paid off). I prefer a 2% National sales tax on all non-essentail goods. Oh almost forgot, legalize on-line gambling in US and allow off-shore competition.

First, what is up with your "neo-con" BS? Its blatantly false, and frankly makes you look like a bigger idiot.
Do you know how our government works? Congress decides the budget, not the President. Of course you'll give Clinton credit for the surplus (which depended quite a bit on the dot com boom, which you claimed had no effect on the economy ) and blame Bush for massive deficits incurred under a Democratic House.
Do you think anyone just voted into office could have stopped the 2001 recession? That's a serious question... how could they have stopped it?

I was hoping for change.
Now its time to give the Tea Party a chance. Obama had all 3 branches for two years and two out of three now but all he can do it seems is blame the last administration. His idea to tax the rich and close loop holes(which means tax business) is the wrong medicine in an economic situation where we need to create jobs.
I am actually starting to think he is not very smart.

Something funny I heard the other day, the Obama administration only considers you unemployed till your first 26 weeks run out...after that you no longer figure in to their unemployment numbers even though you can receive several extensions lasting up to 3 years. When they came out with the numbers on Friday and said the unemployment rate went down, it was straight bullshit.

under obamacare people will actually be getting lazier. no more incentives for employees to stay healthy, smoke free, etc., etc.... no point in encouraging good health if businesses won't see any savings. get ready for an even lazier america.

the omnibus budget reconciliation act which increased taxes on top 1.2%, social security and corporations was passed in 1993 with 0 republican vote you dumb fuk. this law is widely considered by economists as the reason for 8 years of economic boom and creating the surplus.
but just like a neocon snake to try and take credit for something they completely oppposed and fought against.
never said dot com boom didnt help the economy. I said it wasnt the main reason behind the recession as economy continued to grow even after its bubble burst.
funny how you neocons love to blame obama for the current economic problems even tho the recession began a full year before he entered office. yet blame clinton for bushs recession even tho it began 3 months after he became president. neocon hypocricy at its finest.

Yep, you're absolutely correct. They are very adept at this. Problem is many people buy into it instead of checking the real facts.
The truth of the matter is both parties are disgusting. Congress rating I believe is around 10%, Obama is still at 48% so many people realize that he is trying and congress is not. The tea party philosophy is to do everything they can to derail any action Obama might take. This is the philosophy of Rush too, remember when he said he wants everything Obama does to fail. That means the country fails too. These people would sacrifice the country just to hurt Obama and the D's.
I was always taught that all extremes are wrong including this one. When your only political thought is no new taxes ever you are wrong. Period.

Obama is part of the standard Chicago corruption political "educated" left scheme. He is a self-proclaimed "theorist" who knows nothing about how real companies work. His political appointments have literally been criminal, and there is no end to his arrogance. The Democrats would be better off dropping the incumbent if they want to win in 2012, but really, don't have much of a chance anyway.
Republicans can't be stupid enough to send the 2 worst candidates possible to represent the right again this year...they could have picked almost any other governor or congressman and would have easily been right in the thick of the race. Palin should go away if she really cares about the right, and I'm a conservative.
Spending money, giving handouts and raising taxes won't make businesses hire more people, and if you believe in that, then it says all anyone needs to know about your views and there is no sense in arguing with anyone, because you're so out of touch with reality there isn't much that could pull you away from Barry Obama shrine.

Anyone who thinks 1 party is to blame is bias. Both parties have had the presidency and Congress and not 1 single bill has solved or caused the problem. We have had an economy built on consumer credit, during the dot.com boom almost everyone had an on-line trading account and as account went up the spending went up, that exploded. During the Real Estate boom, Home equities loans were commonplace and the spending that went along with the loan, that went bust. We are still feeling affects of un-controlled CC spending. We have to build an economy based on savings and responsible spending. Un-funded tax cuts made the problem worse, "spending our way out of it" is not working. Trying to incent or provide stimulus for people to go back to these spending levels is so wrong. We need to get our businesses healthly first which means fair regulation that protects the American people yet allows the business to operate fairly. Providing tax incentives for businesses that keeps jobs in this country and taxing the ones that ship job overseas. Enforcing Immigration laws, controlling military spending and wars.

the dot com boom/bust had no significance to the economy whatsoever.
I don't blame Obama for starting the recession... yet again, you put words in my mouth. I just find it funny that spending under Bush is bad (which I agree with, he spent way too much) but much greater spending by Reid and Pelosi when Bush was Pres and now even more spending under Obama/Reid/Pelosi is perfectly okay.
Oh, and Paul Krugman disagrees with you-
"I think the model is something like Clinton who, in fact, mostly was just riding on a successful economy that was successful mostly for reasons that had nothing much to do with him. But he was able to, to be a very popular president by presiding over that, by providing competent management on those things you could control. I think that is Obama’s model now. It’s, I’m not sure it will be enough cause this, we’re in much deeper economic than we were in the ’90s, but given the realistic political limits, you can’t expect him to do too much." ---Paul Krugman
