im never in this section(players talk), maybe i will start. i thought i was the only pirates fan, anywhere.

a friend of mine caught me , scoreboard watching, the other day, and it was a big joke, since we(pirates fans), have not been able to "scoreboard watch" this late in the year, in a long time.

saw on the team site today that there will be a few more moves coming up this week. i love playing the kids now. the previous managers waited way too long to even give the kids a sniff.

why is it an idiot thread, Pirates haven't had a winning season in 19 years and we are still loyal fans....Pittsburgh fans are some of the most loyal you will find in all of sports..... we're excited our team is playing this well this deep into the season, we could possibly be in 1st place come the all star break

agree its a little premature to think playoffs but come on this is exciting stuff for Bucco backers and I just love the schedule setup to close out the first half for them, if they avoid a sweep in Toronto, they then got the Nats, then Astros at home and then Cubs at home to close it out....I honestly think they could be in first place come the break, that's exciting shit for Bucco backers

Been a fan since the early 90s. Yes, Eagles fan in football, Pirates in baseball - it happens. Four words, Sid Bream was out!

I think I would have a heart attack if the Pirates went out and got a BAT at the trade deadline. They are a nice story this year, but for all the solid pitching work ... this team has no chance to contend to the end without getting a bat in the lineup. They just don't have enough consistent offense. I doubt they are going to shake things up with a trade to ADD, more likely to deal still ... but ... I will be eagerly watching.

how about Avilia or V. Martinez... Tigers might be interested in getting rid of one of them if they feel they are getting something good in return, and I doubt either one of these would break the Buccos bank.....I know they won't go real big, and I'm questioning if they will even make a move, but something at this level could be done IMO

i wish they would make the playoffs but really highly doubt it but don't over anaylize it could happen plenty of other surprise teams in other sports but basebal is harder than any other sport no 7-9 teams making the playoffs like nfl

We're about halfway through the season and they're three games out of first place. There's no reason why they can't make the playoffs; there's no team in that division that you look at and say to yourself, "Wow, they're REALLY good." Pittsburgh has as good a chance as anyone.
