DJ Primer you want to put your points on it. I'll give you the Bulls +1.5 games for the series at Even money. Meaning they either lose in 7 or win the series and you win the bet.
Anybody who thinks the Heat will lose the series v the bulls should stop gambling.

#212Can you please provide some reasons other than "you ran some numbers?" I see no value in a play on the heat in this series where its a 50/50 proposition and the bulls have home court. I still have yet to hear a coherent explanation of how taking the heat at -190 is a good bet. Thanks.
It's probability, bay-bee.
When I said I ran my numbers (not 'some' numbers), I simply meant the only thing it is possible to mean by those words; i.e. I plugged my personal estimations of probability into a calculation which produced this estimation.
I subjectively took into account my non-technical opinion that the Heat are more personally suitable for and attuned to the championship atmosphere than the Bulls and this, together with my notion of Heat technical superiority, makes them about 4 or 5 point favourites over the Bulls in a single game at this level.
Thusly the probabilities. It is a subjective judgement, of course, but I am delighted to be on the Heat at -180.

#216Read that this morning. I do somewhat agree with LB's prognosis. However, I've seen this time and time again with Lebron. This is a situation where I strongly feel the Bulls will take game #1. What does that matter for the series? A big fat NOTHING. I don't like saying this but there is NO CHANCE the Bulls can win 4 games against this team first.
Tonight tho....
Bulls -2 (5u)
I've heard many respectable pundits make claims along these lines; i.e. Bulls to win Gm1, Heat to win series.
What is it that makes you think this - is it specific to these teams or general patterns?Comment -

#221Do tell - what are the matchup problems that Ashit causes? They don't have to guard the guy - he scored 4 points total in 3 games against Miami this year and in general averages under 3 a game. Is he going to guard Bosh? Miami would love that. He will most of the time (and by "time" I mean his 10-14 mins/game) be guarding one of those awful Miami centers who Miami doesn't depend on to score. The biggest contribution of Ashit is that he will haul down some D rebounds, which is all he did vs. Miami this year. That's a good thing, but it's just stupid to think that he's a difference maker in this series, and the only people I see posting that are Bulls homers and blind Miami haters.Comment -

#225Haha, good post, but disagree disagree with Lakerboy. This kind of thinking and the Heat hype is why we get +170 or more for a team holding the home court advantage. Bulls matches up very well at key positions. +170 is a steal!Comment -

#227The analysts are dudes like many of us on the boards here, some couldn't cap a game or series if their life depended on it. Go look at some of their records for picking winners...one of my fave's are the "experts" pcisk during football season from ESPN...it's embarrassing. You could almost make easy cash just picking the team they call to win, no fuss no muss. haha. The pressure is on the heat here...I say bulls in 6 if they win tonight and 7 if they don't. This series will define D-Rose as an elite playerComment -

#229I never called it. I didn't call anything. I'm not a self-proclaimed profit like you.
I made a lot of comments about Miami and Boston. I also tried to tell people who jumped all over Boston series price against Miami that it was a bad move. Truth is, I wanted the Celts to beat the Heat so that's where those comments came from. I bet on Miami more than I bet on Boston in that series so as much as i wanted Boston to win it was clear that they just didn't have it. In fact we even inboxed each other and I told you I thought Boston was having trouble getting good shots even in the one Game they won.Comment -

#241That defense is unreal right now. Amazing to watch such great players like Wade and Lebron look absolutely hopeless. Asik even did a great job when he was switched over on Lebron forcing him to take 2 jumpers rather then drive past him.
Bulls just playing their game, offensive boards and defense. Not fouling and not allowing the Heat to fast break, the Heat cant make a run without fast breaking. They didn't even shoot that great today. Well, they shot the 3 ball really great which might not carry over but all the other stuff should which will always keep them in the game and with home court they have a nice advantage.
Bulls finally looked like the team at the end of the season. But they will have a very hard time winning in Miami imo, they will probably have to win all 4 at home to win the series, and i doubt there will be any more blow outs like this.Comment -
