Shams, wasn't trying to polish my ego or anything else. Just noting that my experiences in the oilfield have all been on the upstream side. Sure, I could've said something about taking an environmental course in college, going on tours of a refinery and asking questions, reading the Wall Street Journal and understanding that many of the products that go into your helmet business are made from oil or with oil products, and having said that then everyone would understand that I knew all there was to know about the oil and gas business. But I haven't done those things, so I have to defer to the true gurus of the industry like yourself.
I do find it interesting that you quoted all but two sentences from my post, and those two sentences noted that I didn't know much about the downstream side of the industry or the business side. As I said, you and Old Threads can have a bang-up time discussing that bit. I'm sure every answer you're looking for is just another Wall Street Journal article or BP refinery tour away.
