But i use Bet 365 and is also very good.
For me they are the two best sportsbooks

it's more than accusation it is absolute FACT
I don't have an account there any more (would be totally pointless) so I don't know how I can prove what they have done to three separate accounts I have had over time.
$3.65 is actually more than some stakes they restricted me to.
But the best evidence is a thousand or more posts confirming what they do.

What sort of criteria could possibly be used to put them ahead of Betfair?

bet365 has more options but you'll get limited very quickly when you start winning, you could win 10 million on Betfair and they don't care.

bet365 might be goiod for someone i ghated it. a very sharp book, quick moves and they will cut your limits if you get a few good bets on them.

I'd be very surprised if Betfair doesn't have far greater wagering turnover than Bet$3.65

Bigger, smarter punters wouldn't be using Oddschecker to access Betfair whereas I can quite imagine all the small punters clicking feverishly away at the bookies displaying the best odds. A lower percentage of those folk would be exchange savvy.

bet 365 gets the highest unique clickthrough rate from oddschecker for one reason.

nowhere else can you back a horse at 20 or 21 when betfair and the rest of the world are at 12.
nowhere else can you back 'goal' at 2.25 when betfair and the rest of the world are at 1.90.

I can go on ad nauseum, there prices are so often WELL off-market it is not funny.
