that's bullshit. this statistic is way off.. no way it's 80%.. i've walked many a times outside in a t shirt to the corner store in -40 deg blizzards, and no way it's 80% of the time i caught a cold.
i'd say it's more like 5-10%, max...

Total misrepresentation being outside in the cold will not increase your chances of catching a cold.

If with religion you mean belief system, your belief system is your religion. Again, it matters not what it is. You believe in it, you are loyal to it, would defend it, and yet have no proof of it, other than that, at one point or another, you chose to believe in it. Self-hypnosis. What if there were a snapping of fingers that broke the hypnosis?

I was in the coldest weather of my life the last 3 nights in Montreal. I have been sneezing all day, hope I didn't get sick. It's nice to be back in the hot sun!

If your body is using its resources to deal with severe cold, it may be less ready to fight off a bug...

if your body is cold it is more prone to germs and bacteria . that is why people get sick when it is cold outside. it is not the cold that is making you sick. it is your weakened immune system that bacteria is taking advantage of.

I have to agree with NIcky here. The most will happen is you will get a chill running through you for a few hours until you warm up, but you will not "get a cold." you usually "get a cold" via viruses na dnot from cold weather.
