    What Scares Me About Giants................
Is the running game, I am afraid they will control bal and run right through Pats and keep the ball away from them. This is the one thing holding me back from unloading on Pats.

Exactly. 5 Star, if it makes you feel better that I wait till Sunday around 10pm to make that claim, that is OK.

I watched a replay of their game a few weeks ago and the Giants should have been beat by more actually....

The only thing that would scare me about the Giants is if most of you liked the Patriots!!!

                        Good question..

I don't think some of the things the Giants did in that game will be repeated... For starters I highly doubt the Pats give up another Kickoff return for a TD...

I also think "AT FIRST" the Giants will be able to run but I think "Bellacheat" will throw and often to look to jump on top of NY and force them to go away from the running game...

Lastly the conditions that day slowed the track down which helped NY... They had the lead and easily blew it on a slower track... In perfect condtions that Pats offense is going to look like a fast break NBA team...

Comments like this missed some critical things like .."Seer" would be an NFL player in 1985...

WHO THE HELL IS GOING TO STOP RANDY MOSS ..DAVE DOERSON..? Yeah ....sure....

This year's Bengals would crush the 85' Bears! The players now are superior to the players then...

The biggest difference in these two teams:

                                    1. coaching
                                    2. quarterback
                                    3. N.E. has 20 players with super bowl expierence and NYG
have 5. and dont think this isnt a big advantage for N.E.

Yeah, that would have been tough. I was only 14. But if you took me when I was 25 or so and put me in 1950s or 60s I may have been MVP of the league. I agree with what you're saying above. It's tough to compare.

If you took you when you were 25 you wouldn't have to go back that far... You would throw Jack Lambert around like a rag doll.. I am guessing you would be stronger then most 1985 NFL players...

The other huge differance that no one mentions is today's athlete's are not only well oiled machines but they are more detailed...

For example: today's recievers have much better running form then in 1985 not to mention that one double move by T.O. would break the ankles of Dixon or Minnifield (top corners then)...

There is a reciever I met through my helmet business that holds camps for incoming recievers to teach them running form... They didn't do that much back then...

I know first hand this is a big deal... I video taped myself running and realized I didn't know how to run right... Once I improved my form people that beat me by four or five yards in the 100 were now getting beat by 3 or 4 yards.. That is a big turnaround... I'm still slow but but a faster slow..

I'm not disagreeing with you Shams, but don't you think the players of yore had more "heart" than the players nowadays?

Absolutely not. There's nobody that's scoring 40 points on a defense that dominated the league like the 1985 Chicago Bears.

Let me put it simply. The Chicago defense of 1985 was at least as dominant as the New England offense of 2007. Perhaps you can argue that the 2007 New England defense is more sound than the 1985 Chicago offense but I'd see it as a close one.

I'd still like to see the '75 Steelers (with updated equipment) play these Patriots. They may or may not win, but I betcha it's a good game. And watching Lambert put Brady to the turf just once would make my day.

Obviously if were talking about a direct evaluation of capability between the 2 teams in question, it would be a laughable comparison. As with every other major sport, the athletes and their regimens are not even on the same playing field.

If the Chicago Bears of 1985 were to be reincarnated in the league as it is today, they would go 0-16, irregardless of how much "heart" they play with.

Not many people thought Alabama could stay with them. They had the offense with a Heismann QB and those fast receivers. A dominating D. Shoot...even I was a bit surprised by the results when they stepped off the field.
