Mid west states can't claim to be 'redneck' states. That is reserved for us down here in the south in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, etc. Iowa is a 'yankee' state to me.

I've met 'rednecks' from every state in the Lower 48 and Alaska. Can't recall ever meeting a 'redneck' from Hawaii.

Being a person who lived in both north and southern states, I have to say the the south is much nicer, unless you happen to be a minority. Then it can get a little rough.

That is because the north is packed and everybody lives really close. Alot of southern areas have space to conpartmentalize people better.
