I don't like Obama ben Laden, but that has nothing to do with his race. It has to do with the fact that he is a DemoCong party member. I don't want to live in a People's Republic.Comment -

Sorry, dwaechte, but I just HATE when people pull the race card when it's so invalid to do so. I've read over curious' posts and do not see where he mentioned Obama as being a black man and that that's why he wasn't voting for him. That would be racism. But Curious has mentioned concerns about Obama's religion and his background - valid concerns for any free-thinking American voter. At least he's taken the time to research this candidate instead of what people often do, which is blindly go to the polls based on what a candidate has said they are going to do for this country. If a person has gotten to a place where they could be potentially elected president, then they are mostly likely a lying sack of crap, regardless of party affiliation. You don't get to that point without having lied, greased palms or given away the soul of your grandmother. Taking the time to look at a person's background to see who they REALLY are as opposed to who they SAY they are is only smart when it comes to determining who to vote for. Sadly, most people just believe the retoric candidates spew and ignorantly punch the poll button.Comment -

No of those "concerns" happen to be true.Comment -

I admit I thought he was the one who swore in on the Koran.
I liked his answer to the idiot who asked him if he inhaled, "That was sort of the point, wasn't it"? I would be more impressed if he had said upfront: "I was raised in a Muslim household, I attended a Muslim school during my formative years...but I have turned my back on that way of life".Comment -

#52Actually, it's not a fact. From his own Web site http://obama.senate.gov/about/
"Obama is especially proud of being a husband and father of two daughters, Malia, 9 and Sasha, 6. Obama and his wife, Michelle, married in 1992 and live on Chicago’s South Side where they attend Trinity United Church of Christ."
That church has 10 points of committment for membership, No. 4 is:
"A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA"
The "all caps" part was like that on their Web site. I fail to see how a man who is a member of a church with a nonnegotiable commitment to Africa can be president of the US. I'd rather his nonnegotiable commitment be to America.
Here's the link to the church site, if you're interested:

Big difference in attending a madrassa from the age of 5 to the age of 8 and being christened at the age of a few months, as you well know.
Perhaps he never mentioned it because there was no impact on his outlook on life and it was just a non event for him. Then just say so, that is all I am saying.Comment -

#57Religion is only a big deal if a person has a commitment to it. It would be hard for a man to separate what he believes in from his actions and his choices; therefore, knowing what a person puts their faith in can give you pretty good insight into what kind of person they are.Comment -

When I was in Iraq the second time, I saw a school where the women who ran the school were executed in front of the children because the women had not obeyed the sharia law to "stay home". When we caught up with the cowards that murdered these poor women they were convinced that they had done "God's work" in carrying out this horrible horrible crime.Comment -

#62It is a very dangerous thing when people are convinced that "God is on my side" or that they have a "God given right" to rule, or to live on "their" land, or to justify anything else they want to do. When that happens atrocities of unbelievable scale become "God's work". Religious people scare the shit out of me.

#64Of course you're going to have racism and ignorance from a board that's predominately white...America does not want to see a Black president because they are still living in the Jim Crow era afraid to step outside the box to see a more broad picture. People will not vote for Mr. Obama on the sole basis that his skin color is not white which is truly sad.Comment -

I love it how some people always pull out the race card when they don't get their way. My feelings about Obama Ben Laden have nothing to do with race. My pointing out that the southern states won't allow him to be elected is just pointing out a fact.
If Halle Barry runs for President I would vote for her.Comment -

Was it:
1) The Southern states won't allow Obama Ben Laden to be elected.
2) Some people have serious concerns about Obama Ben Laden's true religious feelings given that he "forgot" that he attended a madrassa when he lived in Jakarta.
3) People expressing doubts about Obama were immediately labeled racists even though they said nothing at all about his race.
4) An Obama supporter stated "Obama is a Catholic and that is a fact", when in fact Obama claims to be a Church of Christ member.
5) Obama supporters accused posters in this thread of being racists, when in fact there was no basis to make such an accusation given the posts that have actually been made.Comment
