Is La Cosa Nostra still alive and well?

Just doing a little reading this morning. Mafia typically Sicilian has always interested me. I was reading up on the "Detroit Partnership". Wondering if any locals and sharks around my area were perhaps tied to La Cosa Nostra. One of the former bosses I see is buried in the same cemetery as my grandmother.

    Thanks Men.

I see that one of the Tocco's is still kicking though. Giacoma "Jack" Tocco. He was released from Prison and is still a boss. Practicing or not I have no clue. I am sure there is still some involvment with the UAW, if it is ran locally I have no clue. I would love to pick this guys brain. Still lives in GP.

I lived with his grandson at MSU, also named Jack Tocco, he hated being associated with the grandfather.

Not nearly as powerful as it once was....Major families deal in in much more petty rackets these days as opposed to the construction and union labors....There is no more honor, anyone will snitch in a heartbeat

The Chicago mafia just got taken down over the last couple years. They never called it the mafia or la cosa nostra. In the Chicago the mob was referred to as the outfit. The chicago outfit was one of the most brutal mobs ever. They were also known for running the most gambling.

Frank Calabrese Sr.'s son wore wire in jail and got his old man talking about all kinds of stuff. Joey the clown Lombardo was on the lam for a year. Google chicago family secrets trial. The whole thing went down.

Deuce, you think if anybody does have ties to the costa nostra they are going to openly tell you on an internet sports forum? LOL. Detroit mafia is long gone, but some of the other families in other areas such as New York and Chicago are still ticking. Many have resorted to legitimate business and small rackets on the side. Feds ruined everything, wish I could go back in time

You don't have to believe me, but I know at least 3 members that were in the outfit. They all did their bids, got out and are now struggling with everyday life. They cannot even talk or be around their old time buddies and if they are caught doing so they go back to the joint. Feds have made it really hard for any of the old-timers to get back on their feet

my grandpa knew a bunch of them. Those guys cant jaywalk without a hassle.

The mafia doesnt work anymore, they dont throw 5 year stretches that they all do. They throw you life without parole and everyone flips.
