Rangy Wells is no Josh Johnson.

Johnson is one of the most underrated pitchers in baseball, he is a walking Quality Start.

Just like Halladay should never be a dog at home, neither should Josh Johnson. I'm rolling with the Marlins at plus odds... going to be very tough for the Phils to build on last nights win against J.J. today.

I really like JJ. He doesnt walk all that many and he has shown he is good at protecting leads. Halladay has been leaking runs early in his last few starts and i think one or two early will be enough for jj against a slumping phillies rotation.

The more I look at this, I am not even convinced Halladay is the better starter in this game.

Obviously, Halladay has had the better career, but Johnson is just now coming into his own after losing a year to Tommy John surgery, and he has now tossed 9 straight Quality Starts since allowing 4 runs in his first start of the year, including 13 scoreless innings his last two starts. How are Phillis going to score?

I kinda think the line is right on being the phils are slumping and JJ is on a heater.Game could go either way but I like the phils who are 10-2 last 12 in florida and have 9 runs last 2 starts vs jj in 9.2 innnings.I would take the Phillies anywhere from -130 and below.

well. Halladay hasn't been pitching poorly "lately" - he has one bad start vs the Red Sox - the previous 3 starts were 9IP/2ER ; 6.1/2ER; 7IP1ER;

--one could say you are looking at getting an Elite pitcher in Johnson at home for +110- is a deal

Getting Johnson plus money at home is very tempting but two things are keeping me away:

Johnson last two starts vs Phils- 0-1 with an 8.38 ERA

Halladay has been very good at bouncing back from two game losing streaks. In his nine starts following consecutive losses since 2002, Halladay is 6-1 with a 1.55 ERA.
