Tony Dungy Said Dak Injury Is A Blessing In Disguise For Cowboys
Sunday was an awful day for the Dallas Cowboys and their fans. Quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a devastating ankle injury while the Cowboys were playing the New York Giants. Prescott dislocated his ankle and reportedly had surgery on Sunday night to repair a compound fracture.

With Prescott now out for at least the rest of the season, Cowboys players and fans are both lamenting his injury and trying to be positive about the team’s 11 remaining games. What nobody needed was NFL analyst and former coach Tony Dungy using the worst possible words to talk about how the Cowboys can move forward.

Dungy said that Prescott’s injury “might be a blessing in disguise for the Cowboys.” He said that while sitting in front of a camera during a live broadcast. Those words were formed in his brain, and he somehow decided they should actually come out of his mouth so other people could hear them.

Blessing in disguise was a poor choice of words by me. It’s not a blessing for Dak. What I meant was that for the Cowboys the season is not over. Andy Dalton is very capable and changing the focus back to Elliott could help the defense. But I feel very badly for Dak.

Just curious but under the rules is Daks injury going to mean this season doesn't count as 1 of his franchised seasons given he didn't play in 7 weeks??

Not sure how that works but Jerry might have 3 more years of control here??

it may depends on how andy plays from here to the rest of the season.i think the cowboys will be a better team as a hold............dak is a average qb.........what have he ever won big for the cowboys to move forward.....nothing all his big yards come every yr when the cowboys are down and playing catch up......as a cowboy fan from the roger to drew days, i hope he never come back to play a down for the cowboys i wish so much that the cowboys could trade to get the kid from clemson, that guy going to be a star in the nfl

Dalton is very capable of NOT throwing to a wide open Elliot on 3rd & 2. Alternatively he could have walked for the 2 yards. Instead he threw an incompletion.

Correct or not that is a really really really stupid thing for a broadcaster to say and of all people I can’t believe it was Dungy. He’s usually very careful with his words

I think what he means is they’ll now go more ball control and keep the defense off the field? Maybe? Their offense isn’t really the problem but either way that’s just a bad way to phrase it as a broadcaster

The blessing in disguise would be jerry Jones selling the team. Their problem has got to be systemic, they’re rarely short in talent, yet they still blow ass every year. They’re the biggest disgrace in pro sports

Who was advising dak to turn down $34.5 million a year?

Did his agent convince him he was worth 50 a year? Better than Brady, rodgers, and mahomes?

                      Wtf was he thinking

Of course all the black athletes are blaming jerry jones like it's the white man's fault dak is stupid.

Tony Dungy should thank his lucky stars he ain't white or else the backlash would've been 100x worse. Can you imagine a white man championing a white backup quarterback and calling it a "blessing in disguise" that the starting black quarterback was injured and done for the year?

i get dungy's point but very poor choice of words. dak has 3 out of 4 solid years of stats but i still do not view dak as someone i would want as my QB. the cowboys are better when they run through Zeke and use play action. keeps their def off the field.

No, if Dungy was white then this thread would be 10 pages longer and filled with political correctness rants.

This thread would be 10 pages long because there'd be a media firestorm and Dungy would be labeled a racist.
