No Happy Ending for Louisville Futures Bettors
Online sports bettors who wagered on Louisville to win the NCAAB men's championship in 2016 have been dealt a dirty deck.
The team is expected to announce a self-imposed ban for this year's college basketball post-season due to reports that a former staffer and players engaged in sex with escorts hired by the ex-employee.
The allegations came to light when Katrina Powell, a former escort, published a book accusing Andre McGee of setting up the encounters with both recruits and players.
Some of the activity allegedly occurred at the men's dormitory.
Sports bettors who wagered on Louisville to win it all are no doubt furious: the Cardinals were on offer anywhere from +1400 to +2500 since the season began, and were the pick of some SBR sports writers to make the final four.
Online sportsbooks are not obligated to void these bets, though betting sites looking to drum up good press may offer concessions of some sort to pad the blow felt by these sports bettors. Or else, there may be no happy ending in the cards for bettors who wagered on Louisville to win it all this post-season.
