The St. Louis Blues began their trade deadline work late Tuesday by acquiring forward Matt D'Agostini from the Montreal Canadiens for forward prospect Aaron Palushaj.
The 23-year-old D'Agostini has two goals and for points in 40 games with the Canadiens this season. He will join the Blues before their Thursday game in Dallas.
D'Agostini, who had 12 goals and 21 points in 53 games with Montreal last season, was the Canadiens' sixth-round draft pick in 2005.
In 44 games this season with the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League, Palushaj had five goals and 22 points.
