    Dayton Flyers recovering from Illnesses
(courtesy of Dayton Daily News-Doug Harris blog)

Chris Johnson, Devin Searcy, Luke Fabrizius and Luke Hendrick were suffering from dehydration after vomiting spells and were given IVs early Sunday morning, while Chris Wright and Marcus Johnson became ill a little later in the day .

If you have ever had the misfortune of suffering from food poisoning and then tried to exert yourself, you know how much more difficult it is to breathe.
Dayton has struggled to score at home without these illnesses, averaging 72 points a game 175th in NCAA.

How big of a factor will this be?

Dayton is a relatively deep team that prides themselves on intensity on defense. If they can't get after Rhode Island as aggressively as if they were at 100%, Dayton loses one of its biggest advantages at home.

The atmosphere in University of Dayton Arena is usually electric.
Dayton Flyers are a completely different team at home at UD Arena than when they are on the road.
Coming off the loss at St. Joseph's, that confidence might not return quite as easily unless they can jump out to an early lead.

Expect a close, low scoring game tonight and wouldn't be surprised if Rhode Island pulls off the upset.

    Rhode Island +5

Not sure illnesses will show up anywhere, but may be a factor in the 2nd half.

Thanks G. Like to look at local papers on games. Sometimes you get more info. there than anywhere else. Just have to try to sift through the biased info.
