    Anyone here have insomnia
    i fall asleep at 5 am and then sleep till 10 am, but i need to go to sleep at 2 am , i just can't , ive tried it all,.

    I also have what i believe to have the worst case of restless legs. I dont want to take any drugs calcium and magnesium or aroma therapy has done nothing so far.

      usually worse if i lose money, funny how winning alot of money can help you sleep though. Not have bad losing days, i just can't sleep, not even sure im tired.
      I just heard you had to sleep for health reasons, so i try to sleep

        I do. Most of the time don't go to bed until 5am. Just can't sleep. I used to just drink myself to sleep, guess that would be called passing out.

          I drink too much caffeine through the day is a big problem id say.

            Yep. Had to quit my job to do contract work from home because I couldn't maintain normal sleeping hours. I love it now, can work during my "good hours" and only have a few days a week where I need to be awake at a certain time to speak with clients, etc.

                      I do, and it's really sad, I need to sleep during daytime and I cannot, so I'm always drowsy. One thing that somewhat helps me sometimes is a sip of J&B, my very good friend

                          One thing that helps me, on my way to getting to bed now, is two 24 ounce budweisers. Halfway done with the second. But I'm winning in poker right now so it's a counter effect.

                            This is gonna sound stupid but it worked for me. What u do is dont sleep for a whole day, stay up the whole 24 hrs, like a saturday or something and then sleep the next night, on time if you can (maybe 12am) and get up the next morning on time (8 hrs of sleep, 8am). Then ur body clock should be back in order. It takes real effort but in the long run it will help your body clock. Sorry for the bad English.

                                    I'm not kidding...drink Chamomile tea mixed with honey...it will put you a sleep in one hour. Buy some raw tea, not the organic crap..go for the 100% raw Chamomile tea and give it a try. Also stop drinking soft drinks, stay away from everything containing sugar or cafeine.

                                      I used to have REALLY bad insomnia.

                                      In fact I started a thread right here at SBR about it. I did one or two things and it went away immediately:



                                      I started reading for about 20 minutes before going to bed and

                                      I turned the TV off in my bedroom

                                      The other thing I did was slow down on the alcohol. I only drink 2 nights a week now. I sleep way better on the nights I don't drink (drinking makes you fall asleep quicker sometimes but the quality of your sleep is not as good).

                                          I used to have insomnia every night.. I bought a small portable radio to listen to at night and that has helped. I just listen to ESPN radio and try to avoid stations that talk politics or play shiddy music. Usually get tired enough to fall asleep after an hour.

                                          You just have to try a bunch of different stuff and see what works for you. TheLock says to avoid alcohol, but I know a couple guys who have a beer if they can't fall asleep and they're out like a light.

                                                  I know this sounds crazy, but they say to put a bar of soap next to your leg when you go to sleep and it's supposed to help get rid of the restless leg thing.
                                                  I don't know if it works - never tried it - but my brother said it worked for him, so who knows.
                                                  It's worth a shot regardless.

                                                    The old home remedy of a bar of soap under the sheets for nighttime leg cramps may also give some sufferers of RLS relief.

                                                      I used to drink alot & couldn't sleep & now I don't drink & can't sleep. TNNT is right, sometimes I just stay up a full 36 hours or so & go to bed the next night at 1:00am or so & get up about 8:30 & feel great. A good over the counter is Aleve PM. Take 2 of those & in about an hour you'll be noddin' off.

                                                      I think my record was 60+ hours staying awake, but that involved alot of yo & even more senoritas!

                                                            i've been on Anbien CR since august, and klonopin. Sometimes still wake up too early.

                                                            Regular ambien keeps me asleep for 4 hours, so i'd have to take 2 of them a night for those to work, may have to, cause ambien CR is expensive as hell, even with insurance.

                                                                  if i sleep more then 4 hours i feel like crap! i'll wake up at 5am and feel great when i don't have to be up until 8. If i can get back to sleep quickly i will, but then wake up feeling like crap. so thats why i'm up now talking to you all about how i cant sleep lol

                                                                    Considering that all those sleep pills in the world can't help me sleep consistently, no, I don't have anything that can be diagnosed by doctors, I just have problems sleeping unless I drink myself to sleep or blackout whatever you want to call it.
