It's proven that exercising before bed is not good. Hell, it's just common sense!
Anyone here have insomnia

#39Me too man, though I do suffer from anxiety, undiagnosed because I refuse to be a pill popper, but I know it's there much more than the average person. Only 1/2 a bottle of booze seems to make it go away...Comment -

#40Brock, Ambien makes a 12mg pill. Are you taking the 6mg pill?
Insomnia is brutal. I suffered for a year straight and made some minor adjustments and it went away.Comment -

#41i take the 12.5 ** ambein CR pill, the regular ambien i have, which lasts for 4 hours, i believe is 10MG. the thing is now, i can't figure out how to stop taking it, i think i am stuck. Withdrawal from it would be bad, would need a few weeks with nothing to do and nowhere to go including work, in order to clean out that shit from my system, weening off it is tough, almost impossible when you are on it long enough.Comment -

#46Yeah, if you're not a complete fukk it'll work. You just need to relax. If you're some hyper degenerate watching sports highlights over and over again, nothing will work.Comment -

I do get your point and it is true to a certain extent. People who have some problems sleeping may diagnose themselves as an insomniac.Comment -

#49Another rough one. Don't know if I got 2 or 3 hrs of sleep last night. Someone woke me up saying that I had something important to do early today and I can't go back to sleep. I think anxiety is atleast half of my issue. That's probably why I have no interest in actually watching a sports game that I am wagering on.Comment -

#50Blueghost is right. I worked swing shift in the casinos for 10 years and he's right it does take years off your life. I used to start work anywhere between 7-11 pm and get home and sleep for 3 to 4 hours in the morning. Then if I was lucky, I'd be able to grab an hour or two nap in the late afternoon/early evening before work. I havent worked outside the house for 4 years now and can never get a normal schedule going. Now I go to sleep around 9-11 pm on average and wake up at 2-4 am on average. Then I grab another nap from 9-11 am on average and wake up at 2-4 pm on average. Once a week I'll sleep till 6-7am from the night before and I'll stay up all day and start the whole process again. It doesn't bother me at all since I'm so used to it.Comment -

#51True, once you're used to something it'll never come out, for example, I don't sleep during night time on my day off because I'm already used to night-owling, nightshifting sincerely destroys you.Comment -

#63I have suffered from insomnia from years. It was kinda tolerable until some prick of a doctor decided to try me on sleeping medication.
I did not realize until a much later date that this crap is addictive & almost impossible to get off. Result being that I have been on loads of these medications . Ambien/Zopiclone/Valium.
At first they seem brilliant, then the reality starts to set in when they stop working & you have to up the dose to try & keep the things working
Result is 5 years down the line I sleep a lot worse then before I started taking these things + I have to take a dose of Valium (About the only med left which still works a bit) to achieve this crappy sleep
I wish I was addicted to something like heroin as at least you can Cold Turkey off this, with sleeping meds once you have been on them a while it is almost impossible to break the cycle - believe me I have tried
My advice (FWIW) to anyone contemplating going on these meds is please DON'T you could be setting yourself up for years of misery like meComment -
