You can win. You can most definitely win, but you have to be incredibly disciplined.
Don't get out over your skis and bet just to have action to watch. And stick to 1-2 sports. I see good college football bettors isolate, find and bet their plays on Saturdays, win a few grand, and then piss it away betting the NFL.
The NBA is a joke with the way teams sit guys, and the effort is not predictable.
The NFL is really tough.
But college football and college basketball give plenty of opportunity.

Yea. Been saying for years that if you’re smart enough to win at poker or sports betting (gambling), you’re smart enough to succeed in doing something else. Life of the gambler isn’t for everyone. In fact, it kinda sucks.
The time invested in this stuff can be silly. Older I get the more I realize you can put a $ symbol on time.
I enjoy it as a hobby. Contests, a few small bets a week, or a Hail Mary parlay. It’s in good fun and I’m not losing sleep over anything I win or lose.

Disciplined means finding value. There are almost infinite markets so there are a lot of ways to skin the value cat. Doesn't have to be limited to 1-2 sports, although sometimes that's the best use of time. Personally, I find that live presents the most value because it moves so quickly and the market isn't so static.

Agree about LIVE betting but I find as the need for liquidity grows, it starts to become mostly feasible at breaks, and commercials, between innings, etc.
Because of that there becomes less opportunity, because you know there's value up and down in between those breaks.
And because of that baseball might provide the most opportunity, if there is any, for a typical game or match in any sport. Perhaps tennis too, but I have little experience with LIVE tennis action.
A great deal of my time right now is working with NCAAF. I have some Funds, or strategies, that act more like indices and I trade around them. Getting that dog moneyline on both teams can be a bankroll builder too, along with just outright value seeking.

My numbers say there is only 1 way to guarantee to break even. Gambling is a job. You go over the numbers then bet. Then you have to keep an eye on your bet. You have your regular 8 hour job then you come home and spend 8 more hours watching games. That's why I quit. It made my life simpler. But I still follow the lines and games and love you all but who has a positive record here? I haven't made a bet in 25 to 30 years. OK maybe I toss a few bucks here and there and do day trading on stocks but nothing big. I have a list of stocks I follow but mostly S&P 500 short or long. I don't comment here on what I follow but I do keep an eye out on some stocks. It's day trading and get in or out to take profits or cut losses.

It is possible to live bet football after/between plays, but you have to have multiple sources of info, be very fast, and be willing to gamble some. And of course have as many outs at your fingertips as possible. Going into halftimes are awesome too (especially CBB). I tried baseball a little, but had the absolute least success/comfort at that. Probably won't be doing that anymore.

Always a way out for Americans....The right to bear arms.
Wish we had that in Canada. My days of gambling misery would've be done long ago with my brain matter splatter on the wall. Can't make 750 rent every month without payday loans. penetrate I need a bullet.
