to make a statement, because I don't think the NFL has that power legally.

Mark Davis was a failed owner who inherited the team from his Dad. He was broke and never cared one iota about Oakland, now he's just a priveleged slob and team is really owned by his lenders who did everything, those lenders decided this because Mark Davis is either a chicken or has no balls.

You're assuming Davis "had no other options". Unless I see unambiguous legal requirement that strips a coach of his First Amendment rights, I'll side with the right of the owner to keep his employee.

DuhWhite - we've only heard a few of the emails that Gruden sent. They have THOUSANDS. He totally fukked himself. We all thought it was one email 10 years ago. They have dirt on him from 2019. This all came about because the NFL has been investigating the Redskins (WFT). Gruden's dumb ass was exchanging emails with a bunch of folks in the organization. Game over man.

Story includes detail that Gruden, former WFT exec Bruce Allen and other men exchanged emails with photos of topless women, including one that included team cheerleaders.
