I am with "Jerrah" on this one. The union negotiated the current CBA.

Not the owners fault that RB's get underpaid with their rookie contracts.

He jumped ahead because he's scared.
I would trade him. Don't want a guy like that on my team.

They aren't paying below market value. Elliott is getting paid 1st round money. There is a 53 man roster plus practice squad players plus injured guys on the IR. There is only so much money to go around. If a team pays a few guys huge money they have to cut corners everywhere else and field a bad team. Without the Oline Elliott wouldn't be nearly as good. If RB's don't like the pay structure try to make it as a QB, LT or DE. They can also go get a job in the real world if they don't like it. I'm sure they have big money skills for business or science.

Remember you said it is a pie. Did you feel the same way when Joe Flacco ate up the cap and future winning seasons in Baltimore? Drew Brees after his big deal Saints were barely 8-8 or playoff team and other players who got as much of the pie as they could. There were practice squad players and IR players on those teams too. The Ravens cut damn near every good player they had after Flacco's deal and didn't make the playoffs again until Lamar Jackson took over. But you were ok with that weren't you?? The Saints couldn't stop a nosebleed on defense after poning up 40+ million for Drew Brees, do you know why??? No money on defense no playoffs most of those years. Flacco had a good playoff run, but he wasn't worth 20+ million a year or one of the highest paid QB's at the time. Drew Brees was paid on legacy and didn't cut the Saints any cap room slack. But you are bitching about the best offensive player on the cowboys, in his prime, getting too much of the pie?? Give me a break.

I seriously don't know, did Flacco and Brees hold out to renegotiate contracts? Or was it what they got for a new contract? If ur comparing behavior of the athletes and how it affects a team it kind of makes a difference.

Or he can do what he is doing and get the money he feels he deserves. Running backs have to go this route cause the likelihood of getting big money after the rookie contract is pretty slim as teams hold it against them for running them into the ground.

Of course the oline helps him but that works both ways. he isn’t just some random plug and play guy, he is elite and makes any oline look better.

There only a handful of backs who true difference makers and it a shame they get lumped into this narrative that backs don’t matter. Everyone acts like Steelers didn’t miss a beat without bell but that interesting since I didn’t see them in playoffs like they were every year he played. Rams damn sure didn’t look as formidable once Gurley wasn’t himself. Take kumara off the saints and they be lucky to win 8 games. Just because teams win without elite backs doesn’t devalue the truly elite who do in fact make their respective teams better. That why Zeke gonna get what he wanted cause without him Dallas chances of getting a SB ring go right out the window.

You won't hear me argue Zeke isn't a huge part of that team but he signed a fukin contract

He wanted the security of that guaranteed money in case he got hurt or didn't pan out and now that things are looking good he wants to rewrite the script.

These players who want to renegotiate when they perform well and stay healthy after a few years are betting a hand of blackjack at $100 and demanding to up the bet to $1000 when they get dealt a 20.

So what? Owners can cut players whenever they see fit. Let’s not act like there any honor from either side of those contracts.

That is within the rules of the contract. If teams couldn't cut players you would have half the league showing up at camp 50 lbs overweight and refusing to run a lap.

Anyone who has a problem w players trying to get most they can should go to work 2marro and tell their boss they would like a pay cut.

You can act however you want, wouldn’t expect any different from you. When they don’t perform they get cut and don’t get the sacred contract that owners signed!!!

Yes deserves, he the best back in the league, he should get paid like it. Rookies don’t have a choice as rookie deals are pretty much set in stone based off draft position.

Go to work 2marro and tell your boss you want a pay cut. You don’t ask for raise when you feel you producing more than what you being paid? Oh a "Thas racisss!" argument now? LOL

There might be some truth to that considering the vast majority of holdouts since the CBA for fair contracts are of the race which also wants reparations. Oh you mean we are racist? When it's only black players holding out which of course is a choice, claiming criticism of holdouts is racist is pretty hilarious.

Yes, of course you can ask for a raise unless you have a contract you signed. If you signed say a 3 year contract at a certain salary, you work your ass off for 3 years and then ask for a raise. If you get caught watching porn and smoking weed on the clock your contract probably says you can get fired. You want it to be different for NFL running backs because ur a silly guy.

A team being able to cut a player and that player not getting non guaranteed money is no breach of the contract. If a player doesn't like that, get more guaranteed money. A player renegotiating a contract because he wants more money isn't part of the contract. Claiming players should get more money because owners have it is leftist SJW hogwash.
You make some valid points but the player is completely within his rights to hold out if he wants new deal. He must understand he will get a bunch of bad PR and will take a short term hit financially while working for the deal.

Fans come to see stars, not owners. If you can spend 2+ billion to buy a franchise, don’t skimp on the stars that fans come to see. Nobody is coming to watch Jerry’s old drunk ass in skybox.

Asking for more money is not leftist hogwash, it is capitalism.

Entry level jobs at places like McDs should be able to pay a decent wage. $15/hr is a bit high in most cities but considering they rarely provide health insurance to their employees, $11-12/hr isn’t asking too much. If you are an adult and working at McDs you need to look in the mirror and admit you made some poor life choices.

Elliott signed a contract which currently has two years left on it. He is asking for a raise. Actually, he isn't just asking, he is refusing to work until he gets one. It's racist to expect someone to play out their contract?
