#73Correct. Law stated that the book had to be open 30 days to offer online wagering. I’d be shocked if not up and running by 1st week in Aug
heres all the licensing fees.- Casino license: ≥ $200,000
- Internet gaming permit: ≥ $400,000 (renewal: ≥ 250,000; Responsible Gaming Fee: $250,000)
- Sports wagering license: $100,000 (renewal: ≥ $100,000)
- Casino Control Fund retainer: $250,000
- Taxes revenue at separate rates for casinos and racetracks, and for in-person and online wagering
- Casinos: 8.5 percent for in-person; 13 percent for online
- Tracks: 8.5 percent for in-person; 14.25 percent for online

#74Just remember man it’s not gonna look like an offshore sports book with tons and tons of betting options 24 hours a day seven days a week , legal books have hours of operation As they don’t work apps 24 hours a day Very very limited menus compared to offshore wagering .Comment -

#76That is how Vegas works. Vegas works on a 1970s model. The US is moving to 2018 in sports betting very quickly and things are going to happen you never imagined. It already has and it has not even started yet.Comment -

#77Because of legalities legal wagering can never be like offshore wagering not even half as good
When you’ve been doing it online for years you just laugh at the legal places, it’s a good place to go to kill some time but that’s about itComment -

#78It will not be good enough for professionals. But the US market is huge and it is there for the taking. It only takes one company to do it right and they will own almost the entire market. Someone is going to do it right.
Also, these legalities are going to be under constant attack from very powerful interests and in this country, those interest win 100% of the time.
It will take a few years but eventually the US gambling market will reach its natural level.Comment -

#80Was at Meadowlands yesterday. Crowded and some shaded lines. Had to bet -4.5 -130 to take the Seattle Storm while most books had -5 -110. Still cashed it!
Seems clear they are not going after savvy bettors here yet and more for squares that wager for leisure and action. Being new I'm sure they also didn't want to babysit line moves too much either. My teller was a rookie and needed help even with the most simplest kind of bet.
Hopefully competition and experience will drive better pricing. Adding mobile will get more volume going too.
Overall I think it's all ok for a start right now. I'd have no problem heading there for light betting and enjoying the experience. More serious bets still belong elsewhere and that's fine.Comment -

I very much doubt that these sites, moving forward, operate with individual book managers adjusting the lines.
Even if they are, there will be an overreaching corporate guideline. I would think it will be centralized, like I described above, leaving some books out to dry. Money is globalized now, even if there is a lot untapped in the US alone.
As far as I know, you won't be able to make Jets or Giants bets there, they will be off the board. I don't know if they've reached the agreement with the NFL. Either way, the books can mitigate the local pressure by taking games off the board.
It used to be that one big advantage players had over the whole system was that they can pass on games while the book generally has to play them all.
That could change and would feed into the centralized model but I seriously doubt the well run books would pass on the handle of New York bettors.
Everything in it's infancy.
We should start a Will Hill model and sell it across the nation.Comment -

#82It’s proven that people will bet bad lines because their degenerates so they will always make money.
Any savvy person will only be betting off shore or people that mainly have played off shore I don’t think will go to the legal side when they compare bothComment -

The market will have to correct or the conglomerate may say fuk it.
I'm not going to pay a guy to go in and tell me what the limits are, and I'm not asking for a favor of him. I will pay him to hit those lines that will make us money.
So can someone tell me what the betting limits are at Borgata or the Meadowlands? Do they have WNBA or CFL?
Talk to me Forum.Comment -

#85The Will Hill model is going to be the model for basically every state. Only the larger states like New Jersey and New York will have anything else. Those states will likely have a good number of casinos that will be competing hard against one another. In many states, you will probably have just one company doing business and they will move off of Bookmaker.
Uniformity of taxes and lines should happen pretty quickly and then it is just a matter of time before the restrictions on gambling based on your state become cumbersome and the leagues, networks and casinos get those restrictions abolished.
The sports leagues are not going to want offshore to be better than US gambling because they stand to make money off the US operations through any number of methods.Comment -

#87Yes, the thing is that the US has never had online gambling and the casino companies don't know how to do that. So a company like DraftKings can go pretty much exclusively online in every state fairly easily because they know how to do it. The company that is smart enough to offer online gambling widely across the country is going to take out the Will Hills.
But that will be hard to do with so many different states having different taxes and rules. A lot of states will not be very attractive to enter.Comment -

#95The venue is open seven days a week, but isn’t allowed to operate during Jets or Giants home games because Sportsbook is still trying to reach an agreement with the NFL, which opposes legalizing sports betting.
“Hopefully by football season, you’ll be able to bet on every play,” said Jeff Gural, head of Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment, which owns the track.
--------
No wonder the NFL is opposing it if operators seriously want to offer betting on every play.
That's just too tempting for fixers and players who think manipulation can't be proven in those situations..Comment -

There's a new gold rush folks, bring your mobile devices to New York and reap the profit.
$1000 limits, right?
Even though that's a joke, I bet they limit some players to far less, real quick.
It will be Will Hill style after all, limiting players and booting the rest.
Need multiple beards in the NY area willing to work for small pay and literally no job security, because the limits will turn to shit if they even let you back.
