Americans need to get a taste of Champions league quality soccer. I think if the MLS became like the other sports where the US players are the best then that would change peoples mind but USA does not have a Lebron or Tom Brady for soccer

Hard to argue with games such as today. Still , there have been some great games as well ...... 3 - 3 Spain / Port.....2 - 1 England / Tunisia...... 1 - 0 Denmark over Peru ( Great flow to that one )..... and its only the begining of rd 2. Let me know your thoughts after tomorrows Croatia / Arg game or Peru / France ........ my Joe Namath guarantee that the latter will be a free flowing affair.

I don't hate soccer. I just will never understand the tie shit and how some teams seriously aren't even there trying to win. I get that some don't have the talent like others but at least go out swinging. It is just pathetic watching some of these teams that show up on the world stage and just play keep away and don't even attempt to score. At least in baseball they play until someone wins.

kickball played on a baseball diamond with the exact same rules as baseball is more exciting. usually only played in grammar school but kids like it much better than soccer. also can be played indoors. soccer need to increase the size of the goalie nets to increase scoring to arouse anyone's interest in it in this country.

Just a few thoughts regarding these games.The constant faking of injury and being allowed to kick the ball back towards the defending zone ( after having crossed the center line ) are my two peeves. Exact minutes lost to injury and stalling tactics are never made up in the extra time periods otherwise they'd be playing a much more extended time (I get that). The ratio of lost time/added time, however, is too uneven in many of the games. The game is not perfect , needs some tweaking but major U.S. sports make adjustments periodically and so will soccer. I like the aspect of no commercials during the game . I appreciate the skill involved at the l W.C. level and will continue to watch .

Dude, learn the game. They do these things to:

1) To draw a yellow card on the opponent.
2) To draw a red card on the opponent.
3) To waste time when its late in the game and a draw (or a win) is whats desired

exactly right. if a team ever gets up by 2 goals, forget it, game over. the riots after the game far more entertaining than the game itself.

Check the stats across your entire country. There are more girls and boys soccer leagues then any other sport. Yup , even that 3rd world , lower level , European game, works in Rich nations as well.
