how did they pull that off....he didn't do anything special before that in the majors and all he had was good scouting report from minors as good prospect.

I grew up at Wrigley field and watch every Cub game, and I can't tell you how many times i've wanted to put a stick of dynamite in his mouth and lite it.

He's got the ground out to 2nd perfected....If I was still bookin bets i'd give 1/9 odds on it everytime he steps to the plate..In his defense though, he just had a great road trip

That was a big swing and a miss, and Yu Darvish is lookin like another.. I tweeted Theo and Jed and told them to keep Jake Arrietta, but they did'nt listen. I got a Big C-Band dish, DirecTV and Dish network and watch all the Local Chicago sports shows whenever I'm home, and whenever anyone talks about Heyward being a total bust someone always brings up his "Legendary" pep talk during the rain delay in game 7 of the world Series in Cleveland. Like that was worth the price of the contract and as if the Cubs couldnt have possibly won the World Series without that?

Forbes estimated that the value of Cubs franchise increased by at least $300m for winning World Series. Many players have said it was Heywards speech during the rain delay in game 7 that spurred them on to the win. His defensive ability is worth something - and he is one of most liked guys in the clubhouse so while everyone would like to see more - it’s far from robbery what he did. As a lifelong cubs fan - the more I read about him the more I like him.

For example - David Ross’ last year Heyward paid for a suite at every hotel the cubs stayed at for every road game that year so Ross’ family could travel with him that retirement year. Things like that are worth something in a clubhouse.

I got $1250 on the Cubs to win OVER 93 games and when he's in the lineup its like have two pitchers in the lineup- He's a virtual online RALLY KILLER. That warm and fuzzy stuff you posted is all well and good, BUT IT DONT PAY THE BILLS!

Produce or sit on the bench..Almora and Hap can play the position very well..Well maybe not Hap, but he can hit

                      Gawdamit!

Teams and the media have always loved this guy. I never understood why.

Cards fans are happy not resigning.

Thank god for the scrubbies outbidding cards for his services. From what I understand we offered him a fairly sizable deal after year he played here, not this stupid money but was way more than he was worth!! Lol
