I've said for a while that player opt outs are completely stupid for teams. If he plays well, they get him for 3 years then he'll test free agency again. If he sucks, your stuck with him in a terrible contract for 8 years. Way too big risk in these deals. Probably getting either 3 good years or 8 bad years.

yah it's bad, once again those long term contracts not working out, baseball is weird when guys in prime team has control not paying them well then they become free agents and teams over paying and of course they decline and suck

cant hit. can never hit with runners on. and plays 100% effort defense every night. has speed and takes great angles to the ball. has a good arm too
