So many better ways to fund books than bitcoin. Bitcoin was great for like 6 months. Money transfer much cheaper and faster. There really is no reason to use it anymore.

Bitcoin cash.
Let’s face it, Bitcoin Cash has almost negligible transaction fees, while Bitcoin’s is material and that’s before considering block sizes and of course, transaction speeds.
Bitcoin transaction speeds alone make it an unviable alternative to fiat currency.
While there’s plenty of talk of regulation and the shutting down of exchanges, with BCC Token holders the latest victim of regulatory oversight, an alternative to fiat money will come in some shape or form and Bitcoin Cash may become the market’s choice and the decision may come sooner rather than later, with the market’s hand being forced by events through the first half of the week.
A Bitcoin Cash move through to $2,000 levels would certainly cement Bitcoin Cash’s position over the near-term as a Bitcoin’s main rival, with Litecoin on the ropes

BlockChain fees are outrageous compared to Coinbase the most, coinbase has charged me was $4. Meanwhile the minimum on BlockChain is $8 for small sums, I'm talking like $10-20.

Great article on bitcoin eating itself. Essentially as the fee's grow it makes it implausible for people to spend the money in their wallet as the fee's eclipse the amount in these wallets, making them essentially worthless. The price of bitcoin plus the escalating fee's makes it improbable the owners of said wallets will purchase more to rise above that level.
Fees keep going up. And every time they go up, more of the money stored on the blockchain becomes worthless.

Gram? Some of us have been blacklisted for years. Garbage. At least that's what these books said years ago when I last tried p2p.

Neither Blockchain.info or Coinbase charge miner fees. That is part of the network and would be the same no matter which wallet you use to send.
BTW, YOU set your own fees with the blockchain.info/wallet, so yell at yourself about spending $8 if you really didnt want to offer that much to the miner

I am still waiting - over 2 weeks now - for the transaction I sent to Nitrogen of my BtP winnings to go through. Fortunately, it's just play money, but if you can't transact business with Bitcoin it should go to nearly worthless. The value of Bitcoin will go to the point where the transaction fees are reasonable, so, e.g., if the current transaction fee for Bitcoin is about ten times what it should be, then the value of Bitcoin will go down to $1000. As good as any other theory.
Best of Luck

I didn't know you could set up your own fees. I'm new to this. I've even reached out to ask you on the poker tables and messages but you're oh so busy. But like JJ says the cheapest price is usually early in the morning.

In the Blockchain app, when you send, tap the fee box and it gives you an option where you can select how many satoshis/byte you want to include as a fee. However, be careful if you don't know what you're doing as you can either overpay or send too little and have your transaction stuck.

Well sorry if I have missed that. I do tend to be working when playing poker so often dont read the chat :\ I answer all my PMs though (eventually)
Most people making a complaint like yours are complaining of the opposite usually. Coinbase costing too much.
Blockchain.info have zero fees for anything. But next time you send look under the tx box for the fees slider. They have a low, normal, priority setting there for he miner fees. But honestly, unless this was months ago, 8 bucks is rather cheap for a miner fee anyway, dont try to make them too low or you will end up waiting days.
The biggest reason you see differences in miner fees is the network demand at the moment you send, it's not the actual wallet... although in Coinbase's case, you have no choice, they select the optimum miner fee, which is often higher than some people would choose themselves. They do this to ensure timely confirmation of all transfers sent out.

This doesn't sound right Dan.
Do you have the TX id and know how to check it really is just hanging?
