#212Come on bro you know Trump won't call anything a terrorist attack unless it's done by a Muslim. This was just a crazy mad white guy. You know kind of like that guy in NY the other except he was brown and had a beard. Even if the FBI and every other American Intel , police agency called it a terrorist attack Trump wouldn't dare utter that phrase in fear of alienating his base.Comment -

#214We were at Lakewood church about 6 months ago and a guy stands up about 20 feet from us and started shouting. He was quickly escorted out. A few minutes later another guy stands up shouting too. He got escorted out. A third man does the same thing. I grabbed the wife and kids and got out of there but it was very disturbing as we had no idea what they were going to do and if they were armed. They were protesting O'Steen but you never know when these deranged people might come in with guns. Nowhere is safe anymore.
I believe we all have the right to own guns but we need to pressure the gun manufacturers to reduce the amount they make and how cheap/easily it is to get. Less guns means higher prices, which means less in the general public. We also have to pressure the manufacturers to reduce the firepower of the guns they're peddling on the street. We have too many people with mental illness. Give them a gun and this is what you get. We have got to find a way to get guns out of the hands of the sick.Comment -

#226interesting question
In Pa and Il i've never been to a range where there are more than 4-5 other people there at a time.
so If I wanted to kill a bunch of people in a cowardly way really fast, i'm not sure that is where I'd go.
I do know that quite a few murders, a sad amount of suicides and a few pretty big publicized murder suicides have happened at gun ranges recently.
I think you go to rent a gun without a background check, for a quick way to kill yourself essentially. But If you wanted to kill a bunch of people as sitting ducks....
movie theater, school, church, hospital, college campus, concert, mall, ect get you sickos the results they want.
maybe we put a shooting range next to every theater, church, hospital ect?

#230Just reported on the local news. Holy Cow, one of the guys that chased the shooter in his truck actually ran to the church and tackled the guy when he came out of the church and took away one of his guns. The shooter got away and drove off with the citizen on his tail before he and another citizen forced him off the road.Comment -

Does America have the resources to continue to be amazing at locking down the borders using the 187 entities that make up homeland security AND better address keeping residents safe from citizens or those already in the US that desire to go on rampages?
I hope for my children's safety that we can do both
I don't think we should ever shrug our shoulders at any threat, and say we only are concerned with the perceived biggest threat.
this year, the biggest threat has not come from outside.
our many agencies are doing a great job at homeland security, we need to look at weak links in citizen safety thoughComment -

sounds like some vigilante survivors from the church, or just nearby at time followed him in vehicle as he drove off to escape and the perp was forced off road into a ditch. and killed himself.
heros
and if they had or did pull a gun, or choked him to death with their bare hands or whatever. I hope the public never hears a peep about it.

Yeah I was thinking same thing
and if that were true, that person would be a hero and I hope to God that they police would be able to cover that story up and we'd never know the wiser to protect the hero, his family, and the whole freaking town from further scrutiny and terrorComment -

#241You guys don’t want to label guns as the problem but have no problem labeling drugs as the problem
Just think about this stat
In 100% of shooting deaths in America, including mass shooters such as the one today and Vegas, a gun was used
But keep being convinced by Fox News that guns are fine because guns don’t pull their own triggers, because if you let the gov’t take your at-15 then they’ll take every gun, and then some boogie man will come rape, rob and pillage you in the middle of the night and he’ll be holding an ar15
You refuse to see the truth because you’re afraid
Im going to quit saying guns are the problem because guns is vague, I will be more specific.
AR15’s are the problem. I own 7 of them and I know Donk uses them responsibly but they are absolutely the problem. But let’s dump billions into the war on drugs and mental health because that’s what the nra says is the problem.

#243You like facts?
'In virtually every mass school shooting during the past 15 years, the shooter has been on or in withdrawal from psychiatric drugs'.
Americans have had the right to bear arms from the get go. But the rates of dispensing psychotropic drugs to every third kid or so? Well, that started about 20-25 years ago - and not long after that did the concept of ''school shooter" come into vogue. And so did an opioid epidemic which has a body count that dwarfs mass shootings.
But you think the answer is to punish already law abiding citizens? Really?
Theoretically, by using this logic, I could say that by having more and stricter gun control laws we are now having more mass shootings so let's go back to the pre-Gun Control Act days since this wasn't as much of a problem.
But instead, lets look at when this started becoming prevalent. It wasn't until Columbine when you started seeing these mass shootings at the frequency and deadliness that hasn't been seen before then. So since we've had access to these guns before Columbine (including easier access), but not having the problem we're having now, what's different? First, these psychiatric drugs haven't been as widely used or available as they are now and they're f***ing with people's minds to the point these loonies can't tell fantasy from reality.
You also have this recent (relative to our country's history) invention called the internet which has given us unprecedented access to information. However, it allows for good and bad information to spread. Including to those mentally unstable who can read and obtain information that either solidifies their crazy ideas or thoughts or helps them carry out those thoughts.
Also, what else is different? When did you see a form of entertainment such as a video game where you could do something like this in the 70's?

You didn't, but you can't tell me these games aren't causing soft minds to be desensitized to this kind of crap. Yes, there are people playing these games that can separate fantasy from reality, but you can't tell me there aren't people that are getting mushed from playing these games and getting crazy to the point where one tipping point could cause them to snap and live out these video game fantasies.
All I'm saying is maybe, just maybe, we should start focusing our attention on why people are doing this crazy shit rather than instantly blaming an inanimate object that people have had access (including deadlier weapons) to for years, but hasn't been a major issue except for the last 25 years.Comment -
