The only way that you could ban guns would be a punishment of death if you get caught with one. I don't think the people who are rooting for gun banishment are ready for that.

Stop the manufacturing of them and the ammo and stop legal sales in America would be a good start.. Then offer a $1000 turn in fee for those that already own them maybe?.. Make laws extremely stiff at some point if found owning one years later...

You just don't need to own these guns unless America is being invaded by foreign enemy ground troops which will never happen.. Hand guns, hunting rifles all ok.. Don't need to ban those...

I have always opposed anything that would hinder a law abiding, mentally stable person from owning a HANDGUN. That is what is needed to defend one's self. I don't think anyone needs more than that. It won't matter because it is a people problem more than a gun problem, but high capacity weapons should be regulated much stricter.

Rifles are easier to control and aim. You need high cap mags because you might have to shoot multiple attackers multiple times, and you need to factor in missing your target. AR-15s are best for home defense due to the four points of contact make it easier to control and aim, low recoil so even smaller people can use it for defense, and small bullets won't over penetrate and hit people you're not intending to hit.

There is zero impediment for a shotgun. Anything that can be easily made into an automatic has to be made so it is impossible to do so. AR 15's are high capacity killers without any modification. I am torn because I think people should have the right to own them but highly doubt that anything above a handgun makes you safer. Armies aren't invading homes. AR's are military style weapons.
