If you ever have been to an ER and pay close attention (emergency hospital) you will notice mostly all the doctors and nurses are usually happy, laughing and even making jokes in the next room while people are dying and suffering in pain constantly around them..
They do this to keep their own sanity, happiness and to avoid being depressed day after day at the job..Comment -
He was planning this for a while, he had some serious hatred and pay back thoughts brewing and building up in his mind and hid it well from everyone else.. He obviously wasn't happy in his own life and probably blamed everyone else for his problems and depression. He had a plan and executed that plan..

probably just longed for a normal family. The guy bought his mother a walker before doing this. Dad was a top ten fbi most wanted. he had no kids. A wife that looks like she stayed on the go. I don't think he ever had any relationship with Jesus.
Then a bunch of money... maybe that will do for most. One can do a lot with all that kind of money. Then again, i don't know if having or not having (being in debt) was a major roll. The guy owned housing and different real estate. I don't know his complete finances but either being in a ground hogs day type of depression (with no love) or a real big losing streak. Something tipped him over...
but yea, very basic... empty, soulless, calculated mind living off of hateful thoughts. Someone said in this thread " why didn't he just hit the game room floor if it's about the casino " ? I would think it's because this guy knew good vantage points being a pilot and he picked a place that would maximize damage. The guy knew this would hurt a lot of people being able to switch guns in a room like that for so long.
So he knew this would be a stain on vegas. Rather payback to the fbi for his dad ( in vegas ) or the casino, gambling addiction or etc. etc. could be a slew of things. The answer to me is, he wasn't himself anymore. I think in his later years more and more of things grew on his mind and evil took over his heart and rotted him out, all the way out.

This guy was probably a loner and like most killers like this just wanted to cause as much harm to others out of hate or jealousy and make his name well known in history.. Either way it was a selfish act I believe.. He certainly didn't value life at all or his own.. Was looking to check out and take as many innocent souls with him in the process..
Horrible and scary to think people are capable of doing these types of acts!!! No one is truly safe in populated public places now.. There is usually copy cat killers in the works unfortunately..

Guy played video poker, so just sitting there alone. He sat in his house by himself when home. Was successful, but no family really. No recognition for his success. Maybe thought people should have been lauding him, and his gambling but no one gave a shit. Who knows. Wanted to be known because in his narcissistic mind he was the man and deserved to be treated as such. Once again, as expected, you guys fail to see the important points. This guy is dead. Why he did what he did is NOT, repeat NOT important. The question that must be answered is how did he set this up to begin with. Do any of you have a clue? Let me have some fun with all of you wanna-be detectives and shrinks. We will admit the fact that he acted alone when he knocked out the two windows in the 2 bedroom suite on the 32nd floor and started firing away. Now the question becomes how did he get that far to begin with? How did he get 17 rifles and thousands of rounds of ammo up to that room. How did he get 10 suitcases up to that room? How come no one at that hotel had a clue about him? Let's start from the day that the dates and times for this concert was announced. Go from there.
