Did the NFL try to railroad Zeke Elliott?
Bombshell testimony in Zeke's appeal today and it makes the whole process look shady as fuk. The NFL's Lead Investigator recommended NO suspension, but that recommendation was left out of the report submitted to Goodell. Not only that, but their Lead investigator was also barred from the meeting with Goodell to discuss possible discipline.

The possible bombshell evidence came in the form of Kia Roberts, director of investigations for the NFL.Roberts recommended no suspension for Elliott following her interviews with Thompson during the investigation _ a fact Roberts testified to during the appeals hearing with Henderson, according to a source.

But Roberts’ recommendation never made it into the NFL’s final report or the official suspension letter on Aug. 11, which cited the league’s findings of three instances of domestic violence by Elliott against Thompson based on the victim’s testimony and photographic evidence.

When NFL commissioner Roger Goodell conducted a meeting to discuss discipline for Elliott, it included Lisa Friel, the senior vice president for investigations, Jeff Pash, executive vice president and general counsel and Adolpho Birch, senior vice president of labor policy and government affairs, among others. But Roberts was not at the meeting as Friel recommended a six-game suspension to Goodell. It was testified during the appeal hearing that Friel barred Roberts from the meeting, per a source.

Lisa Friel that barred their Lead Investigator from the discipline meeting just happens to be a NY Giants Season ticket holder. Lisa Friel was also the Lead Investigator in the domestic violence case against NY kicker Josh Brown that was arrested, charged and confessed to years of domestic violence of his wife. Lisa Friel only recommended a one game suspension against Josh Brown. So much for an impartial or independent investigation.

NFL is in deep with this, not a good look. If somehow the suspension is not completely vacated, expect this one going to court. Don't be surprised if Zeke plays the entire season.

I think so, yes. Was an opportunity to take "public stance vs domestic violence."

Goodell didn't need to hear more than that. Thought it was +EV move for the league.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

No idea what they NFLPA was thinking allowing goodell to do whatever he wants.

Even in the tom brady case when he finally lost, the judge pretty much said "its a crazy amount of power, but you guys agreed to it."

Just read another detail of the investigation. Not only was her recommendation ignored, not submitted in the report and barred from the discipline meeting, she was the only NFL employee to actually interview the accuser! Screw needing any evidence, Goodell decided he was guilty from the get go.

Kia Wright Roberts, the NFL's director of investigations, testified Tuesday that she was the only NFL employee who interviewed the running back's accuser, Tiffany Thompson, during the investigation and that she would not have recommended discipline for Elliott based on what she found.

Pretty serious charge to accuse someone of and it looks like there was an attempt to suppress some of the investigation/process. It would seem Zeke has a good case for defamation.

The NFL's director of investigations testified in the hearing on the appeal of Ezekiel Elliott's six-game suspension on Tuesday that she would not have recommended discipline for the Cowboys running back based on what she found, a source told ESPN.

Right out of the Obama playbook.
Kind of the same thing when the democrats barred the republicans from the Obama Care sessions.

                  This is Lisa Friel

She’s the sort of fan who turned the den of her Brooklyn home into a shrine (painting it Giants blue and red and decorating it with team paraphernalia and a life-size wall-hanging of Eli Manning), boasts season tickets that have been in her family for more than 60 years, and cheers her lungs out at every game at MetLife Stadium in the New Jersey Meadowlands.

She sure sounds fair and impartial.

After the Ray Rice abuse scandal, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s inept media appearance, Lisa Friel has been drafted to clean up the mess. Will she be able to?
