For the last 3 weeks I have lost 90% of my parlays because the last team I have did not cover. At some point I have to give up and make the play to protect myself. When South florida lost to pitt that killed off 3 large parlays.

I never hedge my bets for the only reason of it takes away from what I have already gained, the juice gets you from both sides. Although you guarantee yourself a win, in my opinion you pay juice on a bet that you wouldn't have made at the beginning of the day. Good 3 team teaser.

yah i shoulda stuck to my guns. I now make a 5 unit profit instead of 7. oh well I will live happily with it. Heck baylor could win that would be hilarious. I have baylor +14 with my beat the prick contest so that looks good also.

Generally you gotta stick those out. You are going to lose a lot of bets so when you approach a big win you dont want to minimize it.

If you bet huge on game or have a big future bet about to hit, hedging can make sense because that money is more than what you normally work with.

Baylor looking good in the 3rd. Good luck!

I waited until the 2nd half. It is OK -7 and O21. I put 1 unit on OK(-7) and another unit on a parlay of OK(-7) and O21. I still have a very very slim chance of middling but would just prefer baylor to be within 19

Lakersfan...ur points are well-taken and legit.

    Hedginig here does two things:

    (1) it ensures that you don't lose money...so depending on how your day is going or other things..you may want to consider hedging

    (2) a middle opportunity exists which means if he is lucky he can really have a good day.

    Ultimately, its up to him

This is pretty much like selling the stocks that are doing well and going down with the ship on those that do poorly (with commissions getting you both ways). In this one case you can lock in profit, but what about other teasers where the first or second leg loses. You lose all your money on those, and on your winners you hedge (costs you even more juice to bet the other way) and you overall will lose, even if you manage to pick more winners than losers.

As I posted in sports forum, teasing college football is a killer for players. The points they are giving you aren't worth the cut you take in odds. But if you really love the teasers that much, certainly don't add to the cost of your play by then hedging back. JMO

yeah I thought of that. I would have to bet 1.5 units to basically break even as a word case scenario.

Since you liked the teaser from the start, I would stick with it. Lot of juice already built in, I certainly wouldn't add to that juice by betting back the other way.

I would wait for a halftime line to bet out if need be.

started a topic correct way to play this?

    correct way to play this?

I have a 4 unit teaser parlay that has hit 2/3. I have baylor(+20) left to win a 7 unit profit. The line now for tonight's game is Oklahoma (-13.5) down from -14. Would you sit on the baylor game and hope or is there a good clean way to backup your bet. The teaser makes it harder to do so else I coulda put a couple units straight up on ok and at least broke even or made a 5 unit profit tops.
