Yep, those idiot hard working deplorable union workers voted for Trump. Can you believe it???
If you work hard and are patriotic you voted Trump. If you don't you don't like him.
It's discouraging that the non working class has so little respect for the working class. Just like the libs in this thread they despise them and really do think of them as white trash.
article states that while clinton won union vote ;many crossed the line to vote for trump. The unions in michigan was the big reason that trump won. Article states 51-43 voted for clinton. In one area it was 1-5 but it ended up being close
chico when you read stories from where ever and you see "the sources said" and "said one of the confidants", doesn't that send warning signals to you about the authenticity of said article? If it doesn't, it should.
You can just quote dozens of similar articles like that and none of them turned out to be true.

They hold no power, just like the Unions.
Unions give the dems about 2 percent of the popular vote in presidential elections.
The Supreme Court ruled Monday in Harris v. Quinn that Illinois home health-care workers cannot be forced to pay union dues if they don’t want to join a union. …

The article mentions 1 in 3 on the larger NEA supported Trump. Were they expecting more? geez
I like the stat that Clinton won among DC blacks 96-4.
I do believe the libs will take over all branches of govt someday and run us into the ground. Taxes will explode as social spending increases and the rich and companies will make a Syrian-like exodus out of the country. With demographic shifts well under way it is almost inevitable.

Brick for brains. Anyone who knows just a fraction of our political history knows when the Repubs are
in charge, wars are started, we go into recessions and are deep in debt. The Dems have to come in and clean
up the mess. Dispute it all you want. It's history fact.

you can't make simpletons like brooks and bacon understand politics. Yes josh she did get the majority. BUT if she got the normal amount than we would have billary. I didn't vote for her so it doesn't mean i could root for her

I understand, but the long term trend is for the unions to give the dems several % points over the GOP. If that flipped, you would see small pockets of the dems on the coast and the rest of the country would be heavily GOP.

U.S. effective corporate tax rates are not a burden
The top statutory tax rate of 35% in the U.S. is somewhat higher than that of 30 other OECD countries, but the average effective tax rate — the actual rate paid after deductions and credits — is slightly lower than our competitors, according to the Congressional Research Service (CRS). Several studies have found that U.S. corporations pay a similar or a lower effective tax rate — the rate actually paid — than corporations in other countries. For example:
Our average effective tax rate is 27.1% compared with 27.7% for the other 30 OECD countries, according to CRS.
Profitable corporations paid U.S. income taxes amounting to just 12.6% of worldwide income in 2010, according to the Government Accountability Office.
Citizens for Tax Justice’s survey of 288 corporations, which included most of the Fortune 500 corporations that were profitable each year from 2008 through 2012, found that they paid an average effective federal tax rate of just 19.4% over that period.
General Electric, Boeing, Priceline.com, Verizon and 22 other profitable Fortune 500 firms paid no federal income taxes from 2008 through 2012, according to Citizens for Tax Justice.
111 profitable Fortune 500 firms paid zero federal taxes in at least one of those five years.
General Electric, one of the most notorious corporate tax dodgers, got $3.1 billion in refunds on $27.5 billion in profits from 2008 to 2012. The company paid less in federal income taxes in five years than a single American family pays in one year.
Lower tax rates do not boost growth and jobs
Conservatives claim reducing the corporate tax rate will substantially grow the economy. But a cut in the statutory rate from 35% to 25% would increase economic output by less than two-tenths of one percent, according to CRS. Economic growth over the past 60 years has actually been stronger when corporate tax rates were higher, according to the Economic Policy Institute. U.S. corporate tax rates also are not hurting profits — before-tax and after-tax corporate profits as a percentage of national income are at post–World War II highs. There is no relationship between cutting corporate tax rates and job growth, according to a recent study by the Center for Effective Government. Twenty-two of the 30 profitable Fortune 500 companies that paid the highest tax rates (30% or more) from 2008 to 2010 created almost 200,000 jobs between 2008 and 2012. The 30 profitable corporations that paid little or no taxes over the three years collectively shed 51,289 jobs between 2008 and 2012.

hicks your article is from a left wing nut pub. Here is their mission statement;
Mission & Program
ATF’s primary purpose is to educate and mobilize the public to get policymakers to support comprehensive, progressive tax reform that results in greater federal revenue to reduce inequality and to meet America’s growing needs. If the United States fails to raise sufficient tax revenues, we will face deep cuts to services and benefits that are essential to what makes this country great and be unable to make the investments necessary to create an economy that works for all of us. Read more.
Seriously?

The only way to keep your free handouts is to grow the economy. "If the United States fails to raise sufficient tax revenues, we will face deep cuts to services and benefits..". This is what I have been telling you guys. The only way to get more sustainable tax revenue is to grow the economy. They are right your handouts are in jeopardy. But they are wrong to think killing the economy with higher taxes is the solution.

Don't be a rock. Apple is not leaving Ireland to pay 35%. HP just added 3000 good jobs to the tax zone in Costa Rica. Look around where you are sitting; everything you see, touch and wear was made outside the US. You are really fooling yourself if you think we can keep taxes high, run jobs out and not pay the price.
It is a matter of survival to grow the economy.
