Fines are still on the schedule in California. $500 for the first offense, $1000 for the second, then come the license suspensions of varying lengths. In fact, the fee schedule is set to double to $1000 for a first offense on July 1st. My uncle owns one of the bars up in Fort Bragg and he's got a bad habit of not checking IDs. California is starved for money, our sales tax is going up and sin taxes on liquor and tobacco just doubled last Wednesday. I'm sooooo ready to move back to Oregon at this point...
