#429Seattle Mariners (Paxton) -112 over Angels (Quintana)
Hit our Angel run line wager yesterday for 2.1 *
YTD 7-2 +12.18*
The casusal east coast baseball fan probably doesn't know yet who James Paxton is, the casual west coast fan is probably familiar, the died in the wool baseball junkie knows James Paxton is a monster.
Paxton is in the rotation because of injuries to Iwaguma and Walker, Paxton is in the rotation because he desereves and belongs. He's already in my opinion in the group of up and comers like Sonny Gray, Tony Cingrani, Wacha, Lynn et. al
Canadian LHP, pitched for the Kentucky Wildcats.
Features a dirty 96 mph four seamer that jumps, sings, and dances.
He's making his sixth major league big boy start tonight, at home, pitcher friendly Safeco.
Last season he made four starts in September.
He shutout in six innings the NL Champ Cardinals. In another start last September he struck out 10 Royals in seven innings, no earned runs, 4 hits, no walks.
Think about that, Royals mash lefties, they are stacked with Gordon and Butler and Hosmer, and they could not touch the kid. The Cards had Beltran, and Carpenter, and Holliday, and Molina et al, and they could not touch him.
He beat Tampa and that line up with Longoria and Myers, and the rest in his debut, easily.
Tigers touched him up some in his only off outing, hey, you face Miggy and Prince and the rest, and you only give up 3 earned runs, in your only loss, I have no problem with that.
So last season he faces Tampa's lineup, KC, Cards, and Tigers, and pretty much has their way with them
The 2013 MLB pitching season stats per game for James Paxton of the Boston Red Sox on ESPN. Includes full stats, per opponent, for regular and postseason.
Paxton's start last week was against the same team he faces tonight.
Pitched seven full, struck out nine, allowed two hits, none earned.
Yeah, he's legit, knocking on the door of 'big time'
Tonight is the rematch, same Angel stater Hector Santiago.
Servicable, at best, lefty, and I'm being kind.
Mariner's bats smacked him in the M win.
Listen, I am not going to get long winded here, Paxton has been unreal in his six starts in the big leagues
He's 5-0
His ERA is 0.95 his WH/IP is 0.79, he a seven inning starter, he strikes out almost one an inning, his arsenal is filthy, he's smart for a kid, he knows how to both throw and pitch, he's gonna be real good, no he's already real good.
Quintana is very hittable, this is proven, Mariners have improved their offense, Mariners are at home.
For these reasons I am on the M's at a very reasonable -112 price tag.
My concern, Angels are a experienced professional hitting team, so they may make adjustments, like work the count on him.
I have no problem getting up on the Paxton horse again in the rematch tonight.
MARINERS -112 2*
You don't have to tail, but I think this result will be the same as the first result.
Best of luck all.
Shout out to my home state girls, UConn basketball women.
Men got theirs last night, you go get yours, Huskies growl, bark and bite.
Peace allComment -

#433Nash out of curiosity how old are you? What got me curious was the avatar pic. I'm actually very familliar with that team and its history as well and it was technically before my time (was alive, but very young)...so I dunno why age even matters lol. But still sort of curious. How long have you been studying baseball like you do now? Do you have a favorite team?Comment -

I have been obscessed with baseball since I was seven, I have been studying if for at least a quarter century, my favorite team is NYY, because I was born and grew up around NYC, but I am a baseball fan first, and a Yankee fan second.Comment -

#450C'mon man, the guy puts a lot of time into sharing his reasoning on plays and he does quite well. Regardless of the outcome of this gm this really not called for and honestly classless as it bad enough to lose w/o having to hear about it from someone who decided for themselves to tail.Comment -

Please stop crying. I am not going to win every selection, and Paxton every start, but it was the play here, even if it goes south and we won't know if it goes south for another 8 more innings, so I suggest, calm down, relax, and see how the next eight aforementioned innings do goComment -

#454Still time for him to settle in, it's going to be up to the offense to score some runs. Stop being such a negative bitch-boy when thing aren't going your way... you won't make it as a man in this life if you can't bypass obstacles.
With that being said good luck to all that tail this thread as steve WILL provide valuable info when it comes to baseball handicapping. I'm here for good vibes and info so don't roon it with your whining bullshit during a bad inningComment
