I can tell you who's going all in right now here- the guys who are part of the pre-IPO offerings...sorry to tell you, you're not one of them. So I'm not sure what are you trying not to miss here?

Unless you got shares from being one of the underwriters of the IPO, skip that Twitter shit.
I can almost guarentee that the shareholders mentioned in the previous sentence will sell the shares when they become unrestricted.
As chilidog said, how does Twitter make money? This company is even less appealing than Facebook, which is a shit investment.
Even if Twitter sells ad space, even that shit will get old and the only way for growth would be to charge to use the service which would crush the amount of members.
If you are a top level investment banker at Goldman Sachs you will make out fairly well from the Twitter IPO.
If you are some Regular Joe, you will get hosed.

even if they charged a fee of lets say 5$ a year they would make more money than whats in circulation now lol if you use twitter everyday ofcorse youre going to pay for it... esp at a small amount... people on here pay 200 to post on a forum... and most dont break even on the year... im sure most twitter users would pay a small amount to keep their twitter account

I go to the University of North Georgia.
I had to take Algebra and Statistics stuff along with Accounting as far as the math stuff, to get my Associates degree. But now that I am working on my Finance degree itself, it isn't really that bad except Business Statistics was a bitch and Operations Management is tough because that has statistics stuff in it. the accounting stuff is pretty easy.

People pay money to promote their accounts and tweets...
I tried to promote an account but was declined because it had gambling content...
So bigtime they don't even accept some peoples money...

ok but you cant enjoy the prizes or tourneys without being pro... so it gives you an incentive... im sure twitter could come up with the same platform where you could only tweet a few times a day for free and then after that youre cut off unless you pay your yearly dues... if it was a small amount most users would go on and pay for it... so saying that someone wouldnt pay to use twitter is nonsense

Old saying: "If you are not paying for it, you are the product".
It applies perfectly to twitter and facebook and other places like that. They're selling access to their product. And they got a ton of product.

My question was rhetorical. Twitter does make money, they're just not profitable, and horribly overvalued.

Up 70+ % on the day, now it's time to sell and go short for the big impending selloff. They only IPO'd a small percentage of available shares today. They're going to flood the market with millions more shares in the coming months which may drop the SP below the IPO price like what happened with Facebook.
