BCS wants Oregon in the Championship Game

Nothing but Oregon winning needs to happen for that to happen.

The human polls have weight on the BCS, and the human polls didn't have FSU making up much ground on Oregon. At this point - given the schedule for Oregon, it's impossible for FSU to remain ahead of Oregon - presuming Oregon wins out.

Meaning, Oregon controls its own destiny.

If anything, and you are betting on this premise, then expect calls to start going Oregons way.

Unless they call targeting on Jameis Winston, there's not enough flags in their pocket to throw on FSU that would prevent them from winning out.

FSU will have a top 10 matchup with Miami, a potentially ranked (if they can get some more wins) UF at UF, and then an ACC championship date with Virginia Tech who shouldnt have more than 2 losses (they have 1 right now and miami is the only team that I can see giving them problems left on their schedule). For some reason I feel like people arent factoring in those games when they automatically assume Oregon will jump florida state. These are the same people whos models already had oregon ahead of Florida State. What do know though.

If Bama goes undefeated and wins SEC championship, there is no way they can keep out an undefeated SEC team.

There will literally be rioting in the streets if they are kept out.

If FSU beats Florida like they did Clemson and goes undefeated, then FSU will be in the BCS title game.

Oregon must win out and not be held to the low level of points against Stanford like happened last year.

I expect FSU/Bama title game and Bama wins again.

Winston hasn't faced top level DB's yet and Clinton-Dix and Sunseri and company, will eat him alive.

Personally, the only reason I like to watch Oregon is because of De'Anthony Thomas, I like watching Winston more than Marriota.

Bama beats FSU.

I would take UCLA and Stanford over most of The SEC.

Oregon has to play them back to back weeks ( back to back tough games is.....very tough)

Oregon State is going to be a tough rivalry game to finish the season.

There isnt a single matchup where Bama has a clearcut mismatch against FSU. (Except big game experience) Bama could only put up 25 on ole miss at home. Dont be so sure of the result.

With 50 days off, sure I can see that happening. Nick Saban knows how to prepare his troops. Oregon will run themselves into a frenzy with all that time off and SEC geniuses will have enough time to learn a comprehensive game plan.

We need 8 team playoff.

Right now, if Saban has time to scheme, it's going to take a Vince Young like performance to play with Bama.

Lest we forget Jameis practices against that system daily. Fun fact- Jameis has highest completion % while being blitzed of any NCAA QB dating back to 4 seasons ago. This can be attributed to the fact that he is blitzed every down in practice.

I don't like to say anything is impossible given that half the people voting in the polls are morons, and if Oregon wins close games while FSU blows everyone out, FSU may jump them in the human polls..... however, having said that, Oregon does pretty much control their own destiny. They are 0.0028 behind FSU and are suffering from the fact that FSU is #1 in the computer polls while Oregon is #4. If Oregon wins out, they are guaranteed to pass either Alabama or Mizzou in the computers, jumping to #3, which is worth roughly 0.05 points, which will pass FSU comfortably if all else remains mostly stable.

Oregon will need to keep winning, and in impressive fashion to keep their lead in the human polls. Might be worth considering when making wagers.

The problem with all this is, the PAC-12 is dumb as hell and will fail to protect Oregon, and they're going to lose. See it more often than not. Sometimes it seems like the conference refs are purposely throwing away millions for the conference.

Seems people have finally woken up and realized that Kenny Shaw, Rashad Green, Kelvin Benjamin and Nick O Leary do help the kid look pretty good. Not to mention the fact that we have 3 RBs that NFL scouts are interested in. The funny thing about Bama is this FSU team reminds me of the 2009 Alabama Natl Champ team.

I don't believe for a second any of the refs are in on anything. Oregon lost last year to Stanford because Stanford's defense dominated them. It had nothing to do with refereeing.

Maybe not, but at that point wasn't Oregon the only undefeated team on the field? Refs should have been present is half of my point.

I am of the belief that the SEC protects its teams when it matters, as they should.

Ignorant statement. Florida and Georgia aren't healthy and Florida's offense sux regardless. Back-up RB for Florida is better than guy that got hurt.

Injuries happen. Stanford might have won a NC is the heart and soul of their defense didn't get hurt a couple of years ago.

Many, many times Oregon has had decimating injuries in the last 10 years that crippled their NC hopes.

UCLA would kick Ole Miss' teeth in.

Stanford would destroy South Carlolina.

SEC has three top ten caliber teams: Bama, Mizzou and LSU. That's it!

Stanford is a legitimate top 5 team. UCLA is damn good.(they have injuries too that have hurt them)

I think Oregon State could beat A&M and fight with OLE Miss.

No offense, but you're actually showing you don't really know what you're talking about when you say the refs "are purposely throwing away millions for the conference." The Pac-12 made a fortune from Stanford beating Oregon because that set up a situation where they sent 2 teams to the BCS bowls (for a total of $34 million) instead of just 1 team to the championship (for $18 million).

Questionable that they needed that win to send Stanford to the BCS. Even more so this year.

If Oregon goes to the Championship game, Stanford could have/will get the rose bowl. B1G v PAC thing.

Depends. PAC-12 is very good this year and it weighs heavily. Also, they have rules on the subject specifically to allow for which team fans would like to see, and Stanford along with the numbers can still get that bid - they got the BCS with two losses last year, and are currently all the way up to 6 with a terrible loss vs. a mediocre at best Utah team. A loss to Oregon wouldn't kill their chances at the BCS. An Oregon loss guarantees no BCS title game. A Stanford win most likely guarantees 2 teams in the BCS.

i said it too. the chance that fsu goes undefeated is like 90% it really is. crazy to say that but honestly they would need a -4 turnover margin against an already solid team (miami, tv) to lose and they are playing smart

sad but oregon is also going undefeated and we will have 6 more weeks of this fsu or oregon talk
