Verlander's last two starts were his best since May and probably best two consecutively all year. Just because he's looked like the third best starter on the Tigers which would be an ace on many other teams don't mean you should fade the guy for some rookie named after a strange combination going on in the sky.

Regardless of his performance seems Detroit isn't winning behing him; 2W-9L in Aug/Sept, 14W-20L over the season. From a wagering perspective taking the dog against him has been golden.

If you follow Oak at all you should know they are streaky and getting hot with some confidence is important.
