Right now there are only 11 hitters in the AL that are batting .300 or better.

Of those 11 hitters only 6 of them have a higher OPS than Scott Brosius did in 1998

          Miguel Cabrera
          Mike Trout
          David Ortiz
          Joe Mauer
          Adrian Beltre
          Chris Davis

What that guy did and what the 1998 Yankees did was amazing.

that Yanks team did not have a big big slugger

but they had at least 9 guys that hit double figures in HR's

kinda like the Braves this year

He did hit 8th sometimes, but the majority of the games he was batting 9th.

                  Look at that lineup.
A 24 year old Derek Jeter hit .324 with 19 HR, 84 RBI and 30 steals
                  Bernie Williams hit .339
                  Paul O'Neil hit .317 with 24 HR, 116 RBI and 15 steals
Chuck Knoblach hit .265 with 17 HR and 31 steals
Tino Martinez hit .281 with 28 HR and 123 RBI
Daryl Strawberry hit 24 HR as a part time DH
                  Tim Raines hit .290
                  Chili Davis hit .291
Shane Spencer hit .373 with 10 HR in 27 games late in the year

That teams was so balanced, no holes

here's a question....where does jorge posada sit for hall of fame voting

statistically rated the 17th best catcher of all time, 3 rings, 5 ws appearances

Scotty didn't juice, he always had that kind of talent, just didn't see the pitches he saw that year because of the shitty teams he played on before coming over.

Jeter, Mariano, Pettite, and Jorge were the heart of that team for the long haul. They all came up together and ran that Dynasty and I think they all 4 get in. That was when everybody complained all the yankees did was buy talent.

Notice the Yankees farm system blows right now.
