#2So stupid to remove it honestly. The motion of tucking the ball was forward motion and now they are going to have to go back to judging whether he meant to throw or not? Like the previous catch in midair but pushed out rule.Comment -

#3The tuck rule is a tough one. I believe it was a good rule because it eliminated any grey area involved in a play. The more 'grey' you take away from officials - the better. Granted, Manning vs Baltimore should've been a fumble (even though they called it a fumble incorrectly) and the Brady "tuck rule" game should've been a fumble - those are easy ones. But for the 10-20 times/season you see it come up, it's not so easy to see.
BAD rule changes. The helmet one is unfathomable. Read up on Mike Mayock's opinion or catch him on NFL Network. He's got it spot on. Hearing Marshall Faulk talk about the helmet rule passing was like talking to a guy who is dead inside. I kinda feel the same way. The helmet rule and the dropping of the tuck rule is giving way way more leeway for officials to officiate - under Mike Perreira, he tried to eliminate as much of that human error as possible. It also opens the door for more 'question' into official integrity, ala the NBA, where there is almost none, if any.Comment -

#5This is like a newspaper printing a correction on page 30, 11 years after the mistake. Trust me, in 20 years we will look back at the Patriots' super bowls like Reggie Bush's Heisman... the wheels are starting to fall off boys.Comment -

#6When someone goes back to take the qb's head off, the goal is to knock the player down or knock the ball loose. And it should come loose if you wrap him up or knock the hell out of him. The tuck rule was never needed. Hit quarterback, bad thing should be happening.Comment -

#8If the refs had ruled it a fumble, the tuck rule would not have to be taken off the books. Never had been a factor before or since that snowy night in foxboro.Originally posted by Killer_DemoRaider fans will never forget the worst call in history that led to Patriots dynastyComment
