I'm not a Dwight Howard Fan But.....
There's a major upside to this guy. The Lakers offense is a bunch of puzzle pieces that don't fit. Howard is still a major force. People are killing him and forgetting about what a lousy job that Steve Nash is doing. Nash is simply "washed up". Mike D'antoni is an awful coach.

LA would be best suited to get rid of D'antoni and Nash. Gasol hasn't been able to be incorporated into the offense, but he's not a complainer and has brought championships to LA.

Kobe is a legend, but he'll never share the ball and with Howard, you must share the basketball. It's a dilemma because until he retires, this is Kobe's team.

This thing reminded me of when LA had Karl Malone and Gary Payton and thought that they were instant champions. It doesn't work that way. Players need to mesh and encourage others.

Kobe should lay off of Howard and teach him how to shoot the ball. If that doesn't work, split some of your league leading points and feed the big man.

GET RID OF D'ANTONI. HIS OFFENSE AND LACK OF DEFENSE IS A JOKE. Sorry, "Gatsby", time to retire.

Dwight Howard=Overrated. The Laker Meltdown so far is not all Howard's fault, but he is a major reason why they are underperforming. Does he really want to be a Laker?

Too many divas on this team and the Lakers are stuck with regressing players that they are overpaying. While I can't stand the Lakers as a Jazz fan. It is brutal to watch such a great organization become nothing but a circus of disfunction. The pride of the front office has ruined this franchise. Phil Jackson gets the last laugh after all.

Phil may have wanted back in a few months ago but I bet he'd decline now...even if his girldfriend begged him.

Some would think that. But they were Western Conf. champs. Still a big accomplishment, just didn't finish the job. This garbage team won't even make the playoffs.

Dwight Howard is still one of the top 10 best players in the league when healthy. He's only 27..The Lakers see him as the centerpiece for the future,Gasol isn't that guy. The tricky part is keeping him from leaving after this year. It's clear that he doesn't like playing with Kobe. They ain't getting rid of Kobe and he's not retiring after this year. Tough decisions.

ive watched this team play a few times, theres no effort, tenacity, defense, good overall play to be seen.. Howard looks like he cant wait to get the hell out of there. He obviously hates Kobe. Even pregame interviews he looks completely discontent. No one on that team is giving a 100%

Kobe is the problem. Watch the lakers offense. Kobe destroys all continuity and flow that the team might gain if he were not on it. All five players are not being utilized properly, because kobe needs to shoot 90 percent of the shots in his iso formation over a double team. People on the same team with Kobe get sick of trying to rebound the ball when Kobe constantly keeps jacking up 40 foot fade-away air balls, instead of him passing the ball to a wide opened team mate who looks on in frustration, and rightfully so. In fact, I will go as far to say that if you took Kobe off of the lakers, then they would have a better record than they do right now. Kobe shoots long bad shots, and long rebounds lead to fast break points.

Kobe is not the problem, even when they get that hyped up garbage center the ball he either gets the ball low and people strip him, or hack him as he makes it that easy to hack him when he gets an easy shot attempt... so he always misses and can't finish, then he goes to the line and misses both freebies. His offensive rhythm close to the basket is horrid and he doesn't know how to finish moves smoothly and he always shoots the ball too hard, even 3 feet from the rim and misses too many easy looks. He is limited in moves anyways, and he gets himself in foul trouble way too often. He doesn't care if he hurts the team.

I don't think Howard will ever be the player he was. 660 NBA games under his belt. For a lot of guys they may still be the same, but he's a big dude and I think his got some lingering health issues. I just don't think he can jump the way he used to. Not saying he can't still help a team, but anyone who goes out and gives him a big long contract is making a huge mistake. He's starting to break down. He's an old 27.

I can think of another dominant player who came from Orlando, lost a lot of athleticism, scuffled with Kobe, but put in a few really good years when he was motivated. Lakers need an interpersonal guru, not an X's and O's coach.

i never liked howard from day 1, but his case is an interesting one.

first off, he never wanted to be in la anyways. anyone could see he wasnt going to mesh out there. the la brain(less?) trust gambled that he would love the city so much and would like playing with kobe so much (LOL) that he wouldnt want to leave.

2nd, i dont think hes 100% and im not sure hell ever be the same player again, but i also think hes dogging it out there.

last, he still has plenty of value in the trade market if la wants to move him. it was a bad half season, and he has plenty of excuses such as not being 100%, never wanting to be there, this team being a train wreck in general, etc.

Shaq and Howard are 2 different Centers.... 2 different personalities. Howard is a pussy.
