DEN has this little tendency of starting off slow on the accelerator before putting the pedal to the meddle. DAL has a penchant for doing this, too. But that's another trend for another day. The Broncos have already clinched the AFC West title, but they're without McGahee. They face the Ravens next week in Baltimore, before their remaining schedule eases up again. The Raiders are playing for pride, and thus they have nothing to lose. This season, the Broncos haven't outscored any of their opponents by more than 7 on the road in the first half, so I'm playing OAK to cover for all the above reasons.


If at the half, OAK is ahead or if DEN appears on a verge of putting a nail in the Raiders coffin, I'll go in with a 2nd Half live play on DEN -?

2nd Half Line....Opener...DEN is -4....now jumped to -4.5...moving fast...

OAK has the momentum, though, so I'm not so sure Manning will work his 2nd half Romo-like point splurge. No play.

DEN covered the 2nd half line, but marginally. There was no come from behind necessity, or real need to exert themselves against a lame Raiders unit. I'll happily take the results of the 1st half, as this seemed all what the teams were playing for.

Its simple. 49ers are a better all-around team. It's as deep as their coaches past Stanford vs. USC rivalry...Harbaugh vs. Carroll. Yeah! Added intrigue. Look for the cameras to be positioned on "head coach closeups" as the game progresses.

49ers are capable of putting some hurt on their opponents. If Wilson goes down, the game is practically over. Not to say that he will, just sayin'. Though same can't be said about the Niners and Kaep. I won't go further into a long-winded game theory dissection of why I think Seattle will lose. But I'll say this...the Niners have done a helluva job disposing of its "quality" opponents than Seattle has. As of this post, the upcoming SF/SEA game is a PK for goodness sakes! And I'm willing to put my money were my mouth is: SF will dispose of another quality opponent.

Statistically, the Saints rank 2nd in 1st half scoring offense. The Boys rank in the bottom three alongside Jacksonville and Kansas City. Conversely, Dallas is a top three second half scoring team. Which is why they're still in the playoff hunt, which is why I'll seriously consider a 2nd half DAL pick if they're behind at the half, which is what I expect since they've been ahead at the half only three times this year.
