Week 17 - Who's Playing to Win and Who's Ready For the Offeseason/Postseason?

Week 17 is a difficult week in the NFL since some teams are out of it, and others may be resting players for the playoffs etc. Lets use this thread to really break down each game and confirm whos playing their regulars for 4 qtrs and whos going to the backups early.

Best way to find this info is to read local news sites for each team. I plan on starting this later today.

Raiders @ Chiefs - Raiders are out, and this game has seeding implications for kc. Oak can go undefeated in the division with a win. I think they are the play even with an early east coast start.

Dolphins @ Patriots - game means nothing for either team. bellicheck got burned last year playing welker in week 17. maybe this time he rests his starters? he will never show his hand, so this game is an easy pass for me.

the biggest mistake made by public bettors, is taking the team in week 17 with something to play for, vs the team out of the playoffs. if anything, take the team with nothing to play for.

Titans @ Colts - Fisher might be on his way out and the Colts have everything to play for. this may contradict post # 5 but peyton manning in this spot may be worth the wager...

Dolphins are road warriors who's coach is trying to not to get fired. I like them in this spot, but it be more sure if you know if the patriots are sitting starters. I like the dolphins in this spot though, specifically getting the 4 points.

Jaguars @ Texans - jags need the win to have hopes of getting in, and the texans will be playing for their coaches job (they apparently like him). give me the offensive talented texans at home to play spoiler.

Steelers @ Browns - pitt needs this game for a first round bye and the browns have nothing to play for. although they had a nice season and have a lot to look forward to in 2011. i expect the home dog to play very competitive with pitt.

i will wait for the public to hit this up to 7/7.5....no need to play the browns yet.

Bengals @ Ravens - balt needs this game (and help) to win the division. revenge spot as the bengals beat them earlier in the year. Its an A3 for me, so im riding balt.

Cowboys @ Eagles - meaningless game for both. not sure yet if reid will rest his starters, but after seeing vick limp off the field last night i would be shocked if he plays more then a half. either way, dallas is the play for me with philly on the short week.

Bills @ Jets - the jets may be able to move up from 6 to 5, but it sounds like they still may rest some players. sanchez is out (though thats prob a bad thing if you like the bills)

Take the Bears in the first half if you think the game will be moved to 1 o'clock. The NFL made a mistake moving this to a late game. They changed a number of things with the goal that teams would play their starters more in Week 17, yet still moved this game to 4 p.m. Buccaneers and Giants organizations should be lobbying for a time change.

Chargers @ Broncos - no playoffs here for either team but the stage will be set for both QB's. Rivers has a chance to win the passing title and denver is getting excited that tebow may be the qb of the future. i smell a shootout.

I'm still looking to turn the corner in the regular season. Got into the betting game extremely late, going 9-9-1, and hope to end on a positive note.

I don't understand why everyone keeps saying KC has nothing to play for? A 3rd seed over a 4 seed is pretty big this year imo! Nobody wants to play New England 2nd round....plus the way things sit now.....playing the struggling Jets instead of Baltimore would be helpful too! Oakland couldn't stop Indy on the ground (190 yds) this one won't be pretty imo....only 1 KC home win under 4 points this year!
