Sucks, but you shouldn't lose sleep over that kinda of money. If it's affecting you that much, quit. Easier said than done.

Most often times, books get crushed August through mid October and start making their money back in November. Most all of us started off running good at the beginning of football season. I know I've been getting punked over the past 3 weeks by college bets, only to make them up in NFL on Sunday. Be careful with the bets you place from here on throughout the rest of the season. These oddsmakers are on their game. Obviously there's some stuff you can't cap for (ie Rodgers getting hurt) but I'm gonna take my own advice and start lowering some bets and take my foot off the gas. My $.02

September 7-14 this year turned $1000 into $10,800 through mlb bets. One week of couldn't miss and going big. Beginners luck. I was going to cashout on Monday for the free payout. Didn't intend on betting at all until my payout. Went to my friends house to watch the Mayweather fight that Saturday and the itch kicked in. Lost $700 on Mathysse and $700 on Canelo. Distraught over the relative minor loss I decided to get it all back with a single bet the next day. Impulsive and stupid. I put $7,800 on the Saints -3 against the Bucs and lost it all. The Saints won on a last minute play by exactly 2 points. That sh.i.t was devastating and the rest is history. I haven't been able to bubble again since, and I'm minus $8,000 of my own money since. Countless hours invested and my social, mental, financial, and physical health have all suffered since. Been watching tv more than ever in my life. I think winning big and losing it is a lot worse than initially losing. Gambling is fun and makes the games exciting, but unless I'm doing it for fun (i.e. $1-50) I'm done too. I will live with the "what if" feeling of if I would have just waited till Monday for a long time. Sorry for the sob story, but the OP's situation reminded me of my own. Wish you good luck if you keep going OP.

Haven't lost that much, but I feel your pain. I always set a target number, say around $1500 to cash out, and I be damn if I don't blow it all before. 1st time couldn't find the DC the book gave me, 2nd time put a dime of FSU 1st half against Pitt, and this time just could hit shit.

I know people at my job think I'm bipolar. Was quitting last night, now on here looking at lines.

Same thing happened to me in 2009, when I started betting. I turned $150 into 14k in about a month, thought I was some sort of gambling god, and then lost it all in a week's time. I've done nothing but continue to lose money since then because I'm too damn stubborn to cash out when things are going well, yet I continue to bet because it's a rush. I now find sports boring without having money at stake.

Ditto. I was one bet away from being in cash-out mode last night, but the Rodgers injury ruined it. Now it's a question of: Do I hang it up for the year and come back next season, or bet again this Sunday? The wiser route would be the former, but I don't know if I can resist.
