#40Bad beat, but not nearly as bad as the TNF nonsense where the public squares were one play away from covering both the side spread and total, only to have it wiped by a hilarious safety. Books almost got absolutely destroyed with 85%+ on those bets, was really rooting for it from the sidelines.
Texans jumping out early tonight was just a fluke, blown coverage on Andre Johnson combined with a sleepy Indy OL limiting Luck's oppurtunities. I never would have been counting that money until the game was over, in the end Houston was what they've been the whole season: A 2-6 team.
You'll make it up, don't throw in the towel just yet.Comment -

#42These games are choreographed for the audience. The NFL gets paid from Networks and like any other show, there has to be drama to keep the audience. We are just tools. Pure luck to be on the right side. Also the best bet sometimes is one you never make. This game was a PK and so many post about how fishy this was based on records.
Still people bet on it. Now tears. We should only bet on games we have high probabilities to win. Eg NE should beat pathetic Steelers. Panthers should have beat pathetic Falcons. Jets vs Saints another fishy one.Comment -

If it makes you feel any better, i think it was last year where I layed more than I normally would on a NYG game total over X... (think it was GB @ NYG). They scored like 40 pts in the first half and i only need 9 pts in the second half for it go over.. guess what happens in 2nd half.... lol... heartbreaker.... it happens..Comment -

I have a good life, it used to be great. Spending countless hours in front of a computer screen and television or sitting at a poker table just doesn't do it for me anymore. There's one winning bet you can't lose and that's not to play.
I'm glad I saw your post last night, it's nice to see somebody who feels as sick as I do this morning.Comment -

If you can't then you're an addict and you'll never win. I'm a borderline addict myself...been there and done it all. The one guy is betting horses too.....that shit is unbeatable imo with a 16-17% rake. Laying -110 in a football is bad enough but how sick would it be if you had to lay -117 for every straight bet.
I hit my big game on Sat. for $1000....lost $800 of it in pot limit omaha at a casino that night. Hit my big pro game with Tenn but got talked into a bunch of teaser w/the Saints that I didn't even like and blew nearly all of my winnings. Was up $4200 a month ago that I could really use with a kid in college next year and a 10 yr old car but I don't have discipline. I cash out after the Saints pissed me off.....sitting here in Indy and just KNEW that Hou 1st half was a lock. They still have nice talent and Keenum is pretty good and it was their SB. Then 2nd half was a lock the other way if they didn't pull the line because of Kubiak? Luck is now 17-7 SU in the NFL....they should've lost but they weren't losing by double digits w/him behind center. Things are crystal clear when you're not betting on them.
Bottom line....I'm middle-aged and bought a big but moderately priced home w/poker winnings from the poker boom but gambling has also finished off a marriage and a few girlfriends including the best woman I've ever known 15 years ago. If you don't control it...it will control you.Comment -

#47i honestly couldnt sleep last night. that may sound pathetic but god damn i just could believe what i saw. to answer the one question the 5 team ML parlay was paying out 800 the 3 teamer was paying out 300 the laker/texans was paying out 260. plus with the texans on 2 separate bets and the FG prop i wouldve won 1660ish. like my biggest win ever is only 601 on a exacta i hit last year on the melbourne cup..which is ironically tomorrow. the texans just needed to get a FG when it was 24-19. i cant believe he missed 3 fgs. i cant look at lines or bet these games anymore. my heart will explode next time this happensComment -

#56I'd say its unlikely the Bears are going to lose to GB without Rodgers. They are the 1st NFL team ever....they do have some pride and Favre/Rodgers beat their ass religiously so I'd say they're pretty hungry. I'm on Over 50.5 and I'd like to see us both win but its unlikely.Comment -

#66I'm done for the rest of the year too.....sad after such a hot start. Just went 6-0 in NFL props 2 Sundays ago but gave it away. Once your reasoning goes and you're not playing with your head...its over and it will only get worse.
Good thing is....even if you win its the time you spend capping games and vegetating in front of a tv for days on end. Its not healthy and your relationships suffer all around.Comment -

#68Trust me, you will be back. I had a five team teaser that lost for a decent amount. Rice needed 1 TD on 1st and goal at the 1 yard line against UNT on thursday. They got 4 chances to get it, plus another 4 chances added because of a pass interference on 4th down and they still didn't get in. That's a total of eight agonizing choke plays that I had to watched. Your loss was easily worst though.
