Ole Miss-Arkansas Over 143 [-110]
Both these teams like to push the pace as they both average 70+ possessions per game. The Rebels are allowed 71 ppg on the road, while Arkansas is efficient at home for 76 ppg on 46% shooting. While the Razorbacks overall defensive numbers look good on the season at home, they have really been getting pounded in their last ten overall. Arkansas has given up 70 or more in nine of their last ten and 77 or more in three of the last four. Eight of 12 have gone OVERs at home for Arkansas. Nine of 14 on the road have gone OVERs for Ole Miss. The first meeting @ Ole Miss hit for 134, but the splits home/road on that one favored the under.

[1st Half] VMI-Coastal Carolina Under 70.5 [-110]
An early tip + you've got VMI playing their 4th game in the last week, so tired legs could catch a team already struggling with their shot. Coastal is also one of the best defensive teams in the Big South, allowing just 40% from the field for the season. They beat his VMI club twice in the regular season, holding them to 39% and 27% shooting. VMI's defense has been poor, allowing close to 49% from the field on the season - but they have tightened the screws some in the last five. Coastal isn't the deepest team either as their starters log heavy minutes with a bench that is short on productivity. Coastal will take their shots to run with VMI, but I think they have tried to establish their defense in the 1st half against this club when they've played first and foremost. Prefer this over the 2nd half because a lot of the VMI games tend to get crazy out of control with 2nd half points/fouls.

Big South Conference Tournament: UNC-Asheville-High Point Over 145 [-110]
Asheville is the top seed and they get this one on their home court. The Bulldogs were among the top scoring clubs in D1, averaging a shade over 80 ppg which ranked 6th in the country. UNCA prefers the tempo quick and High Point seems to oblige when they meet. As you would expect with up tempo teams, they do allow plenty of points. UNCA allows 72 per game, while High Point nets around 71 ppg on 44% shooting. They are hit 40% from deep, so look for that to be a potential big weapon. High Point scored 70 or better in both meetings, while UNCA scored 90 and 86. As long as they get the pace to their liking, I think this has a super shot to go over.

Big South Conference Tournament: Liberty +5.5 [-110]
The Flames faces Charleston Southern in this neutral site @ Asheville. Each team won on the other's home court this season and the largest margin of victory was five points for Charleston Southern. These teams are evenly matched, both shooting within a percentage point of each other - Liberty @ 44.5 and CS @ 43.5. They both allow 46% shooting from the field. The big difference really in the two regular season games was Charleston Southern netting more FTs in their win [25-18]. Liberty plays a guard-oriented style and all five starts score in double digits, giving them versatiilty. CS also utilizes a three guard look with three double digit scorers and two more than average 9+ per game. A big difference here could be Liverty's big man Joel Van Der Pol. He didn't play heavy minutes, but his height can be a challenge if he utilizes it.

Boy between High Point & Asheville, neither could hit an open shot if you put the ball half way down the cylinder. Both teams shooting in the low 30s. Going to need a Foul Fiesta to have any shot in hell of getting close to the # for the over, but don't see if happening.

That was freaking epic man. I had my ESPN Scorecenter open for my trip home from work and the score was getting closer and closer. I was like c'mon - we got this close, get over! Asheville caught fire thankfully and High Point fouled plenty to help out. Was very nice to get.

Man if I had time to go back and look at all the times over time came into play on these 2nd halves, it'd be interesting. I know we've been saved a handful of times ... but I'm pretty certain it's at least 2:1 in the # of times that OT has fukked the total vs. helping.
