Akron-Ohio Under 141 [-110]
Ohio has been excellent defensively on their home turf, allowing just 60 ppg on 41% shooting. That should jive well Akron who averages just 64 ppg on the road and shoots just 42%. Ohio does put up 71 ppg at home, but it's due mainly to tempo as they shoot just 41%. Akron is pretty tough defensively, so they should be able to keep Ohio in the neighborhood of their average. At home, Ohio has seen UNDERs in seven of ten posted totals. Akron has hit UNDERs in 10 of 14 on the road. The first meeting went to Akron at home, 68-63. Ohio has not given up more than 65 in nine of their last ten at home and if they can keep to that, I think this one squeezes under in the mid 130s or slightly lower.

This isn't a simple formula play. This is one of those that is hard to go against. Oregon State games at home/in general are usually chock full of points in the 2nd half.

The calculated # of possessions was 74. There was a less than 1:1 ratio in the 1st half, so you would have expected maybe under. This is one of the perks of watching these trends all season. There's a couple teams where you kinda toss out the #s.

No, but based on Akron playing zero defense ... never had a chance. Ohio did their jobs in holding Akron to a decent amount. Oh well, it happens. 2nd halves were a good bunch today, so I'm cool with that.

2nd halves were 5-2, so that continues going well. Will keep them going through to the final buzzer in the Championship game. Conference tourneys, definitely will be focusing in on a select few as my main sides/totals plays. Worked well to keep them to a minimum last year. I think the two weeks of conference tournaments are probably the ones you have to watch out for most - very easy to get carried away with too many plays.

Big South Conference Tournament: Radford +8.5 [-110]
Radford lost both times they met VMI in the regular season, but the losses were by a combined nine points. They are not overmatched here against a team that has trouble defending. Radford was victimized by turnovers in both games and will need to cut those down to give themselves a shot. VMI does have the advantage of playing this one at home where they shoot much better vs. the road. In conference play, Radford only won once on the road, but were only blown out by the top tier teams in the Big South. Radford will need to do as they did in the regular season, rebound well [+13] and try to take advantage of the leaky Keydets D to stay close. It's been a long season for the program which was sanctioned by the NCAA after last season. They may finish their season tonight, but it looks like the game should be reasonably close.
