A play for tonight... NC State is a team that has proven things to me. They have the ability to play well under pressure. They bring their best game against better opponents, and they've proven to me they can put up points as needed. The only thing that is shaky is their play on the road. Two, what I'd consider, "bad" losses somewhat recently inter-conference at Maryland and at Wake Forest. When you look at the teams NC St has beat in this conference, you wonder how they are not sitting at the top with Miami, with zero losses inter-conference...

They are a dog tonight, on the road, and I think the line reflects just that, their poor road play against opponents who are not quite as good as they are. However, tonight will paint a different picture for NC St. A solid win against UNC and they want to keep that edge above Duke, which will be their biggest and best win of the season... That game was more than electric...

Virginia plays tough defense, and they will hold NC St to a lower scoring statistic than usual, but they will also struggle a little on the offensive side as well, and they don't rebound the ball like NC St does, so I don't see a lot of second chance opportunities. I consider this a match up of FG% and NC St has proven they can shoot the ball time and time again, with confidence. I think tonight they prove they can demonstrate that confidence on the road, and discontinue the "skid" you will see on their recent schedule.

A win is a win is a win. Thought NC St would win outright but they came up short. This was honestly a good game to watch. NC St controlling the first half and the late back and fourth in the 2nd made it an enjoyable game to watch!

Ok Time to fire up this thread again... This year has been a proverbial rollercoaster for me. One of the toughest years I've experienced in college bball betting. I have always stuck to my same "systems" and analyses, and it was proving strong in the early part of the season, and then things took a turn. I couldn't get a win, experiencing weekly losses that were starting to really add up. I pride myself on the time I spend truly analyzing picks, and the purpose of this thread was to provide, what I felt, was a very strong play for the evening. I look at my record, and it's not horrid, but it's not where I want to be. So let's see if we can't get things moving in the right direction.


So I have a play I like for tonight. I'm actually scratching my head. I checked the injury reports, and I'm just not sure what I'm missing for this matchup tonight...

Utah Utes travel into Colorado for one of the later spots this evening, in a 10pm EST matchup. The line sits extremely heavy right now. Looking firstly at the last time these two teams played, Utah walked away with a 3 point victory on their home floor. Yes, a totally different environment tonight and Utah is a team that struggles mightily on the road. I still am lost at a DD point spread here... Take a look at their scoring avg on the road, and it's not far off from their overall scoring avg of ~65 pts... Looking at Colorado's scoring avg @ home, seems they fall somewhere right above the 71 point mark on avg. That being said, the first time these teams met up, in Utah, the stats were comparable FG% wise, Utah shooting just a little better, but held Colorado to a low scoring total.

I certainly think this game has a different pace tonight. However, the current rankings in the PAC-12 favor Utah tonight, in that they sit towards the bottom of the barrel, and can only play a spoiler at this point, especially against teams like Colorado who find themselves a "good" team floating in the middle, somewhere they likely did not expect to be... Can Utah come out of this game tonight with another win? Absolutely!! Do I expect Utah to come away with a win? Absolutely Not... However, Colorado laying 12.5 points is a joke in this spot. I like Utah to play them tough. Colorado a little nervous, thinking they want this "revenge" on their home court and Utah looking to keep the same mentality they've been riding recently, playing these PAC-12 teams as tough as they possibly can, looking for some more "noteworthy" wins like the one against Az St, or the extremely close loss to 2nd ranked (Pac-12) Arizona, or their first win less than 3 weeks ago against Colorado.

One play for tonight.....NOVA!!!

Simply put, they are playing extremely well. They've come into their own lately and I don't see them folding tonight... Their points average is around 68.5 but looking at this last 10 game stretch, where they've improved tremendously, I'd put it around 70, on average. Over Seton Hall's last 10 games, they've one ONCE, and they're averaging around 61 or 62 points in that stretch...

Playing at the Prudential center tonight won't be easy, but Nova has this chip on their shoulder, in terms of overall record, as well as record in the very tough Big East. They simply cannot afford to hand over this game... A key factor will be rebounding. Nova needs to stay out of foul trouble and crash the boards on both ends. Offensive boards will help them control the pace. Seton Hall will play "loose" and look to run.

If Nova can play "smart" they will take an early lead, and won't let up. I don't see this as a blowout by any means, cause Seton Hall plays tough, they're just so lost right now, and they're not a Big East contender. I think Vegas certainly sees them as a "spoiler" in this spot but Nova just isn't going to allow it tonight!

The line has value now, I'd assume it will move to (5) by tipoff. If there is RLM, it's not going to scare me from this play. I'm capping Nova at a 7 or 8 point victory by way of free throws...

My first play for tonight will be on Drexel, plain and simple. Yes, I am breaking my own rules a little bit, as I'd somewhat consider these teams "mutts" and I don't like to bet mutts, but if last night proves anything, when you see value in a play, you play it. I think this line is too low. I gave ODU a shot and played them against Hofstra, thinking they had regrouped and could close out the season with a few W's, but they proved me wrong. They shot exceptionally well against a terribad UNCW, almost clipping 60%, and no wonder they won by 20+... Back to reality against Hofstra, shooting around 38%, and losing by DD to the team that shares the bottom of the Colonial barrel with them.

Drexel is a team that has played almost EVERY colonial opponent tough, and when you look at their inter-conference results, you realize they are mere points away from sitting up towards the top of this conference. Some really tough road losses recently, and tonight ends a 3 game road stretch, where I think they are just dying to get a win. Who better an opponent than this "rebuilding" ODU team? Drexel must realize, and must feel like they want to close the year with 2 wins against the worst 2 opponents in the conference. Not to mention they GAVE ODU 1 of their only 2 wins in the Colonial this year!!!! I'm not gonna call revenge here, I'm just gonna say that Drexel comes and proves they are the better team tonight, in ODU's house, and twists the knife just a little bit, burying the Monarchs season.

The keys will be Drexel doing a "better" job on the boards, and controlling the pace, and shooting the ball well. I'd like to see ODU struggle with shot selection, as they typically do, and keep their FG% low, handing this one over to Drexel.
