A play for tonight... NC State is a team that has proven things to me. They have the ability to play well under pressure. They bring their best game against better opponents, and they've proven to me they can put up points as needed. The only thing that is shaky is their play on the road. Two, what I'd consider, "bad" losses somewhat recently inter-conference at Maryland and at Wake Forest. When you look at the teams NC St has beat in this conference, you wonder how they are not sitting at the top with Miami, with zero losses inter-conference...
They are a dog tonight, on the road, and I think the line reflects just that, their poor road play against opponents who are not quite as good as they are. However, tonight will paint a different picture for NC St. A solid win against UNC and they want to keep that edge above Duke, which will be their biggest and best win of the season... That game was more than electric...
Virginia plays tough defense, and they will hold NC St to a lower scoring statistic than usual, but they will also struggle a little on the offensive side as well, and they don't rebound the ball like NC St does, so I don't see a lot of second chance opportunities. I consider this a match up of FG% and NC St has proven they can shoot the ball time and time again, with confidence. I think tonight they prove they can demonstrate that confidence on the road, and discontinue the "skid" you will see on their recent schedule.
