Absolutely destroyed today, I could say unlucky but that wouldn't be right. Some awful picks, Orlando are still hot and dominated the Sixers. Nets are the Nets and couldnt win stay in the game. Pacers were horrid. Thunder were up 3 with 2 mins to go, you'd think they would be the team that would close in a tight spot? Wrong. I'm going to take tomorrow off and maybe the weekend to reassess my picks. Cheers guys

Breakers not losing to the Hawks twice. +11 is juicy but I am worried the Breakers bounce back and destroy the Hawks.
Breakers cover double digits almost weekly at home.

I can't figure out this line. The Breakers have covered almost every game at home with the majority being double digit spreads but it seems like the hawks have the Breakers number somewhat with two almost identical victories.
The Breakers are a championship team, I can see them making an early run and not giving up at all.
Dillon boucher should be out for the Breakers too which is GREAT news.

Breakers -11 (0.5x)
I'm gonna ride this and try get my bank back to 50 units profit. I think the Breakers have to be stone cold dumbies not to adjust and smash this game in front of their home crowd. They have a tough remaining draw and if they wanna stay on top they are going to have to win these games. They need to attack more and be more agressive on the ball and force more turn overs. Assists were down majorly last time they played, Breakers need to play their game and not get broken down.

Do away teams ever win in this league? Seriously though, I think one in like every 10 games the away team covers.

hey guys cheers for the support, i'm ofcourse going to get back into it still up around 45 units (including bloody nbl bets) i'm just really disheartened at some of my picks and need to reassess some of my angles, i'll probably have some smaller plays till i feel good again afl is just around the corner, going to do a 10 unit dump on freo to make the 8

I think freo making the 8 this season is a good bet. Depending on what odds you get them at as many of the bookies vary. I think $1.90 is the best around. Parlaying them with NQ Cowboys to make the 8 @ $2.00 at the TAB turns it into $3.80, which I think is a nice little investment as both teams i reckon are in for a big season. Injuries permitting.

Sorry for the late play guys just got out the gym
Nets +8.5 (1x)
I'm leaning Bull 1q and Bulls 1h and also feel Portland will beat the clips.
@jubjub It's a great bet for me, i'm a season member for Freo and the number of times i've wasted cash betting on every game I go to even if I see no value, not to mention stupid bets (like Freo straight up against the Pies for memory), so I figured a largish bet on a future would be great so I can cheer my boys and hopefully get paid. I think they will make the 8, their goal is finals footy, they've come along way and they have all the right pieces and a bloody good draw I think. That is interesting, I think I would prefer putting it in a parlay with the Storm to make the 8, however I am happy with the 1.90 odds i'll put $1058 to win $2000.
What do you guys think of Storm to make the 4/Hawks to make the 4?

My value bet in the nbl this week is blaze to cover 6.5 against the crocs on Sunday. As a blaze fan I was prepared to write them off a month ago due to their lack of D and general attitude in games. They lacked chemistry, consistency and wortho and 2hard2guard just did not look happy being there.
Fast forward a month. Blaze killing it on the defensive end, just looking straight up mean. Every time a bucket is scored the bench get on their feet, slapping hands at time outs, plenty of talk and enthusiasm amongst everyone. Deleon dominating, Gibson killing it. Wortho getting into groove. Always been about attitude with this team, no one has ever doubted the talent on the court. Its been a while since this has been said but with wildcats and breakers showing inconsistency of late, blaze are now the form team in the nbl after obliterating by teams of late, home or away. All on the back of tremendous defensive pressure.
Back to the crocs game, crocs play tonight against cairns. Being a grudge match between the two NQ rivals you would think that a lot of energy and focus will be used up by T'ville in this game. Personally I hope crocs win as this will give blaze even more incentive to wipe the floor of crocs blood two days later. Schenscher, who could be seen as an x factor vs blaze, will no doubt be feeling the effects from tonight's battle come sunday. Cant see him backing up well tbh. Gibbo/Deleon match up well v Crawford/Gill, Holmes will get his fair share and the cedar boys will get a few long bombs but in the end, unless Crawford goes for 7+ from down town I can't see them hanging with blaze down the stretch. To summarise, a big noisy crowd, potent offense and wicked D vs a tired, inconsistent Crocs is asking for a blow out. Blaze take this by more than 6 I'd say.

Great analysis, the Blaze have really come out firing and look to make a strong finish for play offs. There is only one flaw to all the logic and thinking, it's the NBL and sometimes it really stinks

The Blaze look more and more like legitimate contenders every game at the moment.
I woud hold off booking that bet until after the Crocs play tonight.
The only question mark for me with the Blaze in the playoffs is do they have any sort of bench production?
If standings finish as they are now a Blaze v Wildcats first round would be pretty interesting

I'd stay away from storm top 4 tbh. Storm have been extremely lucky the last few yrs regarding injuries, as they're big three (slater, smith, cronk) have missed minimal playing time. If those three stay on the field then storm will be there abouts. Hoffman and Ryles are decent buys, and potentially Chambers, but something tells me without Adam Blair they lack that X factor in the back row that is so vital to break games open. I rate Proctor, just think they'll miss Blair. All this talk of Cronk bailing as well, I dunno, just think they are not certainties. I reckon heaps of teams have improved too so wouldn't be surprised to see Broncos, Knights or Cowboys make a charge at the top 4. Value I see I'd with Warriors top 4 and Cowboys top 8. I may be biased towards Cowboys as a supporter but I genuinely feel we are a shot at the title. You know much about Jason Taumalolo? Wow. Him on one side and Tariq on the other running lines off JT and Lui. Depth in every position for the first time EVER. 20's team killed it last yr and with all those guys coming through, if Thurston stays injury free then the $2.00 the TAB is offering to make the 8 is almost insulting.

Yep good call on waiting til after the game. If anything the line may move in better favour for blaze if crocs have a big win. But I'm ready to pull the trigger at the line set now.
A match up with Perth would be ideal. Already beaten them twice this season and gave them a scare in the loss out west, so I'd give us a chance of taken one off their home court to beat them in three.
It's the breakers that make me nervous. Blaze do not match ip well with them ie. Abercrombie wilkinson, with Vukona always lifting his game. Petrie and Hudson would need to hold their own and then some for us to beat them, but knowing they would hold home court gives me the shivers. Advantage Breakers.
Finals need to go back to best of five. What do you guys reckon??

Another interesting NBL stat I read...apparently 29 of the past 43 games have gone 'under' in the total set. I normally stay away from O/U but I thought that stat was interesting.

Yeah mate, best of 5...
The finals setup is such an advantage to the Breakers and Perth (if they are the high seed)...
As a Wildcats supporter I would obviously rather not vs the Blaze but I think we will have good games, they keys for us is to get Neville and Red into the game early with easy baskets. Our guards will always get theirs. Wagstaff playing well is a big plus too.

I am not surprised at that stat about the unders recently, I can only think of one or two games that have gone over.
Teams are scoring 50 - 60 points regularly.
I had the under last night and the fukkn Hawks started fouling with a minute to go
They pulled the same shit the first time the Breakers beat them in round 1 or 2 and the over hit with about 20 points in the final couple of minutes.
The total tonight is interesting - 150 which used to go under every time these teams matched up but in their last game a few weeks ago they put up like 165ish?
Why do I bet on the NBL

I swear i'm on a cold streak fresh from the Antarctic, after I placed the wager I went to get some food I come back and its a tied game.
Well today I learned a few valuable lessons that i'm going to take with me to the grave hopefully.
1) 1Q bets are garbage, doesn't matter whos on a back to back whos at home, the 1q are extremely hard to predict.
2) The Bulls without Rose can still chop, they've been doing it all season.
3) Stop pulling the trigger on dumb live bets thinking a team is when only 1 quarter has been played.
4) Stop over valuing Boston.
Anyways great come back by the Clips, really helped my confidence, if i didn't do the stupid 1Q bets and the stupid live bet i'd have had a very nice day. Taking my lessons and going into tomorrow with my head held high and looking at some really nice spots.
Might take a punt on the NAB cup for some friday night action as the missus is out of town, will most probably lay some ridiculous bet on the NBL and lose that too.
